Why do people worry about getting a desktop when they can get a phone that has about the same processor, better camera and is portable.

A phone is only capable of doing what it's manufacturers made it to do. However, add-ons are available for computers to extent it's wide range of tasks it is able to perform. Getting a phone that is just as good as a computer costs way more than the computer itself. It is easy to buy a computer than just download the add-ons.

In my opinion, it's really important for every person to have a computer, almost necessary I would say. I had a computer since I was a teenager and I can say that they are much better than phones.

Phones can do a lot of things nowadays, but back in the day, you weren't able to do much on a phone. You could just call, answer text messages, play some really simple games and if you were lucky to have a phone with a camera - take pictures. Phones are really good, but they can't quite replace computers yet, since they have limitations.

First of all, a phone is much smaller than a computer screen or a laptop for that matter. It is much easier to type on big screen, when the keyboard doesn't take half your screen. Talking about keyboards, computers and laptops actually have keyboards you can type on that are much faster than typing on a phone.

Second of all, some jobs require you to have computers. Most adults use them for working purposes, meanwhile most children and teenagers use them to play games.

I do agree that a computer is much more expensive than a phone, but it's worth it. You just have so many possibilities you'll never have with a phone. I think computers are the future and phones won't hold up nor become better than computers any time soon.

I believe in a computer as well Sara, especially when it comes to editing and saving anything from images using photoshop or corel draw to a word document or a power point presentation.
Smartphones and tablets tend to overheat while performing such heavy functions.
Keeping in mind battery issues and limited access to certain functions such as tweaking RAM speed by increasing virtual memory or converting a video file into a more suitable codec. I will go with a PC or Laptop anytime of day.

Computers, come with more pre-installed programs and can run a larger variety of installed programs than Smart Phones. There are many largely adopted programming languages that most smartphones cannot interpret and Computers can.

Also, as mentioned earlier by Sainfai, Computers have actual large and tangible physical keyboards which makes it Easier and faster to type on. The size of a screen is also a large factor. And unless you want something you can carry in your pocket, portability is not that big of an issue with new smaller, thinner and faster laptops.

Also, smartphones have radioactive substances in their processors. Governments have set a limit for the level of radioactive emissions a smartphone can have, but, it is still dangerous to keep in your pocket for too long a duration.

I believe in Flaming and Desktop or Laptop Computers rather than Smartphones. Some websites do not open up in Smartphones. And the charge of the Smartphone decreases faster than a Laptop Computer. We can learn on a variety of subjects on a Computer without worrying about charging it often.

I would say that mobile phone has a limited access to many sites.Sometimes, our mobile may show some faulty messages on screen or any kind of errors. But one can feel more relaxed while using a laptop.Laptop is more convenient than mobile because it has a larger and friendly screen than any mobile phone. We can do most of our work by using the larger screen of laptop. The biggest advantage of using laptop is that it doesn't show any kind of site failure. We can finish our important works on laptop easily and happily in a quite good environment.

We need computer. Computers play many important roles in society, helping to promote communication and interaction with others as well as providing users a way to shop, play games and have access to education. Additionally, computers provide a convenient way to create and store valuable information along with media and files, making them particularly useful for businesses.
