Best laptop for writers

I'm an aspiring author and working on my first novel. I've been using Lenovo Laptop and I'm quite contented with its performance. But I need to buy a new one because I've been using it for six years now. I prefer a much lighter laptop, thinner and smaller so I can easily take it wherever I go.

Any recommendation?

 

I have a MacBook Air, and I love it. I had a Lenovo as my first laptop, but I was never able to get much use out of it. When I switched to Apple, everything was so much easier to use, and I felt that I could be way more productive as a result. Ultimately, the best laptop for someone is a fairly individual thing as everyone is different, however, I would definitely recommend taking at look at what Apple has to offer, even if you don't wind up purchasing one.

 

I have an HP with the full version of Word installed, and for writing, I think it is the best choice. I can use Google Docs and Word equally well, and my laptop is small and runs quickly.

However, battery life is only about five hours, which is definitely a consideration if you plan to be using it for large periods of time.

 

The best laptop for writers relies mainly on its keyboard, if you love the feel of typing on its keyboard that is the best laptop for you. I agree with the first two who've given their suggestions, a Macbook Air (current model) has good reviews especially with the keyboard switch they're currently using, the only downside is that it's not cheap. If you're looking for more affordable laptops that can last for a long time, I'd recommend HP laptops. The other thing you need to keep in mind is, aside from writing, what other things am I going to use this laptop for? Once you know the answer you can narrow your choices down and you can now focus on testing the laptop's keyboards on your own. Happy shopping!
