Most countries in Africa are democratic. However, the people in power do not like to resign or have a successor, instead they chose to stay in power for ages. A good example is Zimbabwe where the majority of the youths were born when president, Robert Mugabe was in power, and up to now he is still the current president.

The other countries that are in the lime light are Ghana and Kenya. In Ghana, the court declined to go through a petition by the opposition party. In Kenya, the highest court in the land nullified the presidential election results due to some irregularities. This has led to a repeat of the presidential elections in Kenya. At the moment, the sitting president is campaigning for a chance to rule for another term. This has left many people wondering why the sitting president does not want to concede defete

It is merely the greed for power which has led to this condition. This is not the case only with certain African democracies. You can take Syria for example. It is because of the greed for power and the unwillingness to step down,of the Syrian president Bashar Al Hassad, that the 'Arab spring' uprising has still not declined. It is because of his selfish motive that the poor nation is undergoing a huge chaos and a refugee crisis in the war striken country.

You indeed got your points well researched on and i can but only second this mind blowing political observation from you.
Africa though making improvements on their political ideology but still have a whole lot more to do when it comes to matching up with the western world in terms of relinquishing political power.
Most African political leaders seem to be suffering from the same political illness, where none wants to leave the seat without a fight or force. My country Nigeria experienced a surprising milestone where the incumbent president then"Dr Ebele Jonathan" to the incumbent president president now "President Mohammed Buhari".

Most African countries in Africa are democratic and were freed from colonial rule. However, most of the heroes who helped free the African nations and are now leading those nations have in turn become the oppressor. They do not want to concede defeat in elections, they do not want to groom future leaders nor do they want to retire.

Time and resources are hardly channeled to the development of the nations rather towards rigging elections, investigations on who may be planning on being the next president and elimination of potential successors. More so, the wealth of the countries is used to further the presidents stay in power and only enjoyed by a few especially those in the upper echelons of the country. Its sad that most Africans cannot openly express themselves when it comes to their political affiliations and views for fear of victimization and being made to disappear from the face of the earth.

However, following the wonderful peaceful and successful demonstrations done by Zimbabweans to remove the oldest president ever to rule, Robert Mugabe, one can say Africa is making strides in as far as achieving political freedom is concerned.

The problem in Africa development lies entirely on the leadership i.e administration of the state.Corruption tolerating leaders elected by the people later destroy the country.

Politics in Africa or should it be corruption in Africa? well there is no politic in Africa we just have rulers who are greedy and think of their own benefit than the people. We are the one's who made them politician and they are just robbing us from our rights. It is high time Kenyan youths should protest because they don't have jobs even after having a master's degree.
