As a graphic designer, I've created several logos over the years. My first one ended very well but I prefer to use text and good fonts as a logo.

Have you ever designed your first logo? How did it end?

Logo design is something that comes naturally to me. I designed my first logo when I was around 9 and recall how impressed everyone was, with those early efforts. Growing up in the 80's there were plenty of cool influences around, from Transformers right through to graffiti art. Generally I enjoy designing bold, colorful and complex logos with metallic gradients thrown in for good measure.

If you ask if I designed my first logo from scratch.. well I didnt, I used a program with pre made logos and you could combine diferent parts to build you own. I did it for a video game team I had, and it was pretty sick! xD

I just played around in paint, it was really bad, but that was back in 1998 and it was a "logo" for the school Bake Sale, which I don't think really counts.

The first "professional" logo I created was for my wife's office, she owns a small business, and I made a small logo with photoshop and some pictures. I think it turned out pretty good, but that's just my opinion. The company used it for two to three years, before they eventually hired an actual designer to make a professional one.

I have designed all types of things over the year but I guess my first official logo for branding would be this.

Context behind this is it's for my youtube page. So I made the text in a color I like, added in the bodybuilder guy because a part of my niche is fitness (I sell fitness programs for commission online) and gaming, my passion/hobby. So I have screenshots of my adventure throughout various MMORPGs. I am currently learning adobe after effects to try and make animated video intros but I haven't been working on it as much lately.

I have made my first logo using Adobe Illustrator. It was a logo for a friend of mine. It went well and I was satisfied with the work that I have done. It was simple yet it shows what the business was about. One thing I learned from creating a logo was to keep it simple and don’t use too many colors. My friend is still using the logo.

    Hi,

I create all my logo's, banners and all kind of graphics for my website myself. Why, simple because I like to do it. And the result is always pretty good. I did try to find someone else that could do it for me, but most of the time I found out that I can make a better logo or whatever graphics I needed then the person I hired. But that is maybe because I was going to the cheaper people that are offering that kind of services? Maybe I should spend more money on it to get a better job done? What do you think ?

I designed the logos for my 2 startup companies. Design for me comes natural. I incorporate Adobe Illustrator in my designs since I'm more comfortable in working with vectors as compared to pixels. Commercializing my skill is yet to take off because of time limitation but in the whole, I believe I will strive well in the professional world of logo designs if my present skills are more refined.

I am not really into designing logos. I had a client who used my services to do an illustration. They then wished for the illustration to be a part of their logo. I know that there is a psychology that goes into creating a logo properly. Would anyone be able to recommend any books on how to create a logo from scratch using the psychology of what the client is looking for?

I started designing logos for online and offline use in the mid 90's, I was looking for ways to earn some much needed extra income back then and since I have a good PC, it was a Sony VAIO, Pentium 2, 300Mhz, an Arctech Scanner and 2 reliable color printers an Epson 300 and 400, opening up a home based printshop was the wisest thing to do.

I made my first Logo for a client who just opened up a car repair shop he ordered a complete package inclusive of Logo, Business Cards for him and all his employees, Letter Heads printed on Long, Short and A4 Bond Papers and it's quite a lot 4 reams each, also Letter Envelopes and Stationaries with printed logos.

I was using Printmaster Gold it's a Desktop Printing and Design Software and it was really good, when using it online I could access 100,000+ templates and designs which I could edit and reconfigure.
It was quite easy to use and I could create good logos in minutes using it.

After running my printshop for several years, I got bored and tired of it and decided to close shop, since I got promoted in my day job and was earning quite well. But I still remember those good old busy days being a Print Shop Owner and a Graphic Artist at the same time.

I've been designing logos since my freshmen year in college. I actually do it as a contribution to the school organizations I'm in just like the Student Council. I won't say I'm really good at it but I'd say I have decent skills. Logo making, for me, is a very enjoyable thing to do because you have to be very creative and original because you might get sued with plagiarism and be attacked online because of your lack in originality.

The software I'm currently using in logo making is Photoshop CS5. I know it's not really meant for that kind of work but that's the only software I have. It's not that very good but at least it's useful and with some creativity and experiment you can make premium looking logos out of that software.

At one point in my life not a while ago i had started to look into designing logos and editing videos, therefore i took a few courses on some online websites and tutorials on youtube, at first everything seemed relatively easy to understand but after a while i realized something that opened my eyes to reality which was the fact even though i could follow and perfectly execute any logo, my imagination and creativity were holding me back and i felt that i will not be able to go further with the project and gave up.

Yes, I have. One time, as part of a recruitment process in one of the previous jobs I applied to some yeaars ago, we were tasked to come up with our own brand and design a simple logo for it. Afterwards, we were also asked to present it to the panel of interviewers. It was one of the most memorable and fun job interview experiences I've had so far.

Though I've never experienced the popular electronic graphic design, that job assessment experience now makes me think of giving it a try. I'd like to check out Photoshop and other beginner-friendly programs for logo design that I can use. Any suggestions are welcome.

I have created my first logo. It was as part of a contest led by a gifted and talented organization in my home state. The logo was for their conference in November. Each person who wanted to enter was tasked with coming up with their own original logo for a slogan for the entire conference. I designed a simple logo using free stock images and Pixlr, an online photo editor a little like Photoshop. We were then asked to email or contact the person running the contest with our logo. I did, putting in my school and age and some other stuff.
Incidentally, I won. I get to go in November and be featured in the conference. It's at a waterpark, so that should be fun! I was very surprised to win the entire contest--after all, it was state-wide and it was my first logo. But I was also, of course, extremely happy.

Though I've never experienced the popular electronic graphic design programs like Adobe Photoshop, I think I'd like to check out Photoshop and other beginner-friendly programs for logo design that I can use.
