    Hi guys,

I would like to propose and see if you guys agree that having a chat here in the forum would be great to get to know other members and start conversation.

On the other hand it would benefit the forum attracting more people, off course it will have a set of rules and moderators to keep control of the content and it should not be used to ask questions about forum topics but only for social conversation and helpful tips as too where find information on the forum etc.

    What do you guys think?

I do not know if the Administration would consider adding it but is worth to try, the reason I say is I have some experience with forums and that was one idea that helped the forum become more a community as well as adding a few more areas for topics.

Thank you for your time and opinion.

    Thanks for the suggestion! :)

The Gateway is not really meant to be an active community however. It's purpose is to test the writing abilities of new applicants to see if they are good enough to join the program. A chat room would probably just end up being a distraction.

I agree. A chat room would encourage shorts posts and banter rather than quality writing. I'm hoping I will qualify to join this site on a regular basis and I'm glad there is an english test first as other forums I belong to don't enforce this. Some of the posts are quite impossible to read where the writer is perhaps not from an english speaking country.
