Are there religious superstitions?

Religion refers to the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. Superstition refers to any belief or practice that is irrational. That is, it arises from ignorance, a misunderstanding of science or causality, a positive belief in fate or magic, or fear of that which is unknown.
In some religions there are beliefs that are irrational e.g when a bird poops on you it is a sign of riches following. Another example is if an owl cries in your homestead someone will die. List any other form of superstition related to a religion.
