Culture is a simple word that holds a lot within it. Every place, country, religion and caste has different cultures which are all unique in themselves and hold a special place,

But does being cultural means that you are stick stuck to the old beliefs. Can culture and advancements go together.

If you want to advance and adopt modern outlook does it mean that you are leaving behind your culture. Every culture has some limitations and boundaries.

Can MODERNIZATION and CULTURE go together????

I think modernization and culture can go together.

Culture is a collage of ideas, values and customs that becomes a part of us. It's much more complex than that (obviously) but it forms the norms with which we live life. Modernization, even though it is seen as the opposite of tradition or culture, is a culture in itself. It's the culture of a new age.

The world is constantly evolving. That evolution has become the norm and aren't norms part of what makes up a culture?

The 21st century is so different from the 20th century and that's because the world is evolving. Most of the people in older generations (everyone above 55) want to hold on to cultures that were built around archaic customs based a century ago. And that's understandable. Change isn't easy.

But the younger generations that are born into the world of smart phones, laptops, iPads, and social media are going to have one culture: modernization.

We probably are, but that's what change means. If we didn't learn to leave cultures behind, we would continue being the exact same way forever. We wouldn't have had the Renaissance, the Protestant church, or slavery abolition if we tried keeping cultures and lifestyles the same. It is the continual change in culture - no matter how little that change is - that makes us better at our humanity.

So yes, we are leaving our cultures behind. But that has caused more good than harm.
