Yes,I sleep next to my phone although I know it is dangerous.I have heard that it causes some heart diseases as well as cancer but I can't resist doing this.I am very much addicted to my phone.Sometimes I go to sleep unknowingly while typing messages or listening songs. However,I would make efforts to quit this habit because the radiations from the mobile phones are extremely harmful and it has been proved. So all those who have such habit please try to quit it.

I have this habit of sleeping with my mobile . I love to use mobile while laying down on my bed. I cannot imagine my life without mobile phone. Sleeping with my mobile beside me make me kind-of happy and relaxed, I dont know why? . But its part of my life that's why I keep it with me even in my bed.

I know exactly what you mean, people tend to get mad when I do that believing that I intentionally ignore them because they are boring or something. They need to make some sensor that scans if you are snoring and states that you are asleep on the social networks you use. I believe that would be really awesome addition to things that already exist in this era.

I sleep with my phone on vibrate and tuck it in next to my chest so if I get a call in the middle of the night it usually wakes me. I don't do this all the time, but my girlfriend works graveyard shift and I worry about her because of the area that she works in.

As far as the cancer thing and it being bad for you to do that, everything these days gives you cancer so why stop now?

I do the same lol. I have heard that radiation from cell telephones postpones and diminishes rest, and causes migraines and perplexity. Utilizing the handsets before bed causes individuals to take more time to achieve the more profound phases of rest and to invest less energy in them, meddling with the body's capacity to repair harm endured amid the day.

Albeit, a few specialists concur that the wavelengths utilized by both mobile phone administrations and wifi systems are moderately innocuous to individuals. This is on account of they are at shockingly low energies, which are irrelevant contrasted with the characteristic radiation created by episode infinite beams and even our own particular bodies. I wouldn't suggest laying down with your telephone under your cushion however, to be safe.

Unfortunately yes,I do sleep next to my phone.I don't think it would be possible for me not to.I use it occassionally throughout the night to check the time or when insomnia hits in the middle of the night. It is always my consolation because when am lacking sleep I always start googling and much much more.I also tend to think that if it's too far from me I might miss an urgent or important call and end up regretting in the morning.

I used to sleep next to my phone when I used to work, to be able to hear the alarm or in case I called from work. Now i don't even have a phone being a stay at home mom , if i did have one it would only be used for emergencies. I only used my cell phone at times for social media that's if I couldn't get a hold of my laptop. I believe that if you must have your cell phone with you all times it's just obsession.

I have no problem sleeping with the phone within my reach. It has helped me with the alarms not to miss work or other events. It was my understanding that the cancer and vibration studies were mostly scares or misguided interpretation of the results and not necessarily something that has been proved.

While I am not seeing bad to keep taking precautionary steps, my concern about sleeping next to the phone is more about disrupting the rituals of relaxation. Some people cannot relax if they hear a notification signal. They have to look at it and engage. I think it is a good thing we silence our phones or restrain ourselves and letting ourselves see that nothing bad will happen if we just leave those notifications to wait for us till the next day.

I have a friend that uses an application on his phone to sleep, one that gives rain and other sounds.

I used to sleep next to my phone until lately after I read an article online on the dangers of sleeping next to one's phone. Ever since then I had to make the conscious effort to always put away my phone before I sleep. I got a stool which I placed by my bed side whenever I am very tired while on my bed knowing that I could sleep off the next minute I put my phone on the stool.

Seriously, the radiation from the cell phones, especially when the battery is low, could have catastrophic effect to the body. People should learn to take precautions not to sleep off when on the bed with their phones.

I used to sleep close to my phone because I use it in place of an alarm clock. I have been quite lazy in the past and used to sleep close to it due to not wanting to walk a few feet just to turn the alarm off even if I was already aware of the consequences but did not fully believe it.

I have taken the consequences seriously recently and have taken initiative to avoid any potential problems.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I don't sleep next to my phone, I just have it near me on a table or something, sometimes I use it as an alarm, or if I'm waiting for a call that might come through late at night, no one else has to wake up from the ringing, especially if it's emergency, or If I don't want to be searching all over the place for it, it'll be right at hands reach.

I do have my phone with me in my room but I put it on a table I have in my room, away from my bed. That way I am close enough if it rings in the middle of the night, but it is not next to me when I sleep. Anything that is electronic emits a signal, in very low doses like televisions, computers and phones so it is possible it can cause medical issues. The problem is avoiding any contact with anything electronic, the fact that phones are small is actually what makes it possible for people to have them so close, most people don't have a television on their bedside table, but probably have tablets, laptops and phones. Phones in particular have replaced alarm clocks for a lot of people, so though most people know it is possible that it may cause cancer, only when it is confirmed will people change their habits.

I've had a bad habit in the pass of throwing things off of my bed in my sleep so I don't sleep with my devices that close to me. I have not investigated the possible medical problems they could cause as I have my own reasons why I don't do it. Another reason is, I usually go to bed after my phone is almost out of power so it's usually being charged while I'm sleeping and only close enough as to where I will hear the alarm for the next day.

Well if I had the choice I think that I would put it about as far away from me as possible, but unfortunately it serves as my alarm in the morning so it is a necessity to have it there, and even worse to have the volume up so I can hear it and wake up. I know that there are separate settings for the alarm volume and the media volume, but often times I will get so paranoid about missing work that I will just have both up, so if someone calls I am likely to wake up. Maybe I should just go out and buy a real alarm clock.

Hello, Tesky. I've never heard about babies sleeping next to a phone can cause cancer. I really do not think that babies sleeping next to a phone can develop cancer. I have always slept with my phone near my nightstand right next to my bed. Nobody hardly calls me on my phone late at night while I sleep anyway.

This was an interesting topic. I wish everybody here good luck.

I sleep with my phone because of my family. I used to have an alarm clock, but I willingly decided to put my phone instead because of concern over my mother. I am worried that if she had an incident in the night, I wouldn't be able to help her because she can't contact me. I know it's a bad habit, and then it can have many negative consequences, but I need that piece of mind knowing that people can reach me if they need to. As well, I use this phone for talk shows to help me sleep, and in the morning, it's my alarm clock to get up for work or my daily run. So in conclusion, I sleep with my phone, and I am proud to do it. :D

I usually have it by my bed, unless it's charging. Besides, I have never got a problem of short sleep as I put a lot of Physical work into my routine so sleep is never a problem. I usually avoid Phones during special occasions where it keeps ringing when someone sends a message. I use it as an Alarm so it is almost compulsory to have it at my bed all the time. My phone automatically goes to sleep mode if I don't use it for long periods so that's great.

Hahah...I admit I am guilty of sleeping next to my cellphone! I usually put it on the nightstand since I use it as my alarm in the morning. I think as long as it's not right next to my head, I'll be ok. :D

Yes, I have always put my phone next to my bed. This is because I use my phone as my alarm and I always like to look at my phone when I wake up in the morning.
I have heard people say that having your phone next to you bed is not health and it can cause fire, however I think that's not true. I haven't seen or heard anyone say that their phone has set a fire during the night.

My parents always used to say to not put my phone near my bed however I still used to do it because before I go to sleep I like to go through the news and social media to stay up to date with the trends. I find myself falling asleep which then when I wake up in the morning the phone is in my bed.
It has become a habit for me and all my friends put their phone next to their bed, I don't think I will ever change that.
