Before introduction of betting sites there was total support for clubs.
However,it's totally different as people will only support teams that they've put in their bet slip to win. With this trend,I bet it's going to make many people withdraw all their support they have for a certain club.
    What's your take on this?

Compulsive gambling is a behavior disorder which disrupts or destroys the gambler's personal life, family relationships, or vocational pursuits.

The compulsive gambler gambles to minimize discomfort and for pleasure. Gambling or the anticipation of gambling gives him excitement as well as an escape from discomfort. The compulsive gambler cannot stop. His life centers around gambling. To not gamble means despair because he feels he cannot exist without gambling.

Gambling culture being bred in the society today as far as sporting in its entirety is concerned, not only kills patriotism to ones' club, but also encourages a lazy society. Of course it is for a fact that once you place a bet against your favorite club the support shifts to the opponent. The world today spins around money and self-centeredness where everyone tends to lean where money comes more. This situation even saddens more when it is rumored that some of these club managers place multi-million bets against their own clubs. With this growing trend, in my opinion, our patriotism towards sports is becoming more cosmetic as long as we remain gamblers.

What happens when gambling becomes more lucrative to an extent where players themselves are tempted to gamble? Sports governing bodies should therefore move with speed to regulate gambling lest sporting becomes a mockery to all parties involved.
