Is Taoism A Religion?

I don't think Taoism is considered a religion but to me it feels that way. It has to do with the energy in the universe and from what I have read about it, I think it is very interesting. How this invisible energy can effect and change things around us...even in us. Taoist say that meditation is the key to getting in touch with this energy and I have try it and find that they are right. I find it very relaxing. When I talk to people about it, they ask me if this is a religion. I'm not sure but I believe it could be.
