Once in a while in the kitchen or at home, we incur burns accidentally by touching hot equipments, through hot liquid splashes or stepping on hot equipments.
Burns can be managed at home by splashing cold water on the burnt area, in case the burn results to a blister and it breaks, apply pure honey for a fast healing process.
Sunburn can be relieved instantly when splashed with cider vinegar at frequent intervals.

We all experience minor burns at home, and these kind of minor burns are called first degree burn. First thing you should do is to run cold water over the burn. You can also use honey because it has a natural PH that makes the skin inhospitable to bacteria. Some people may use Toothpaste and raw potato, they are believed to relieve pain and swelling.
With minor burns, one should avoid using oil or butter, they trap the heat and make it more difficult for burn to cool down.

I have always liked aloe vera, either in juice or plant form, to treat burns. The juice can be placed directly on the burn. To use the succulent, simply cut a piece of the leaf to reveal the inside, which contains the medicinal salve. Gently pat the burn with the exposed salve against the skin. Aloe vera soothes the pain and can prevent inflammation. The best part of it is that this plant can be grown in a pot on your kitchen window, for easy reach when needed.
