Our differences as humans are expressed genetically as phenotypic expressions of genes, such as physical characteristics. But race as a phenotypic expression does not exist. Race only exists as a social construct. All humans are 99.5% similar in their DNA. All humans are the color brown, just with different shades of melanin. All humans can interbreed. Look long enough and you will find a member of any "race" that looks just like someone from any other "race". Our only differences as humans are differences in gene allele frequencies.

I think that true racism is the persistent, passed-down, perpetuation of hypocrisy; a gross short-circuiting of Maslow's hierarchy. Like the Emperor and his townsfolk, we gravitate towards the idea of race because it is a quick fix towards fulfilling the needs to feel safe, belong and feel good about ourselves. The concept of racism is a psychological narcotic that inebriates the social conscious of its users, ever increasing its user’s dependency and absolute lust for it. It is a virus that spreads via the open sores of ignorance, seeping down deep into generation after generation.

    What do you think?

I agree on the basic facts you have laid out as in the hanging on to the notion of all people being racists without regard to the over all changes in public thinking as new generations become more adapted to getting along together. Yes, there are a few die hard hate groups and individual people who are truly against others no matter what color your skin may be. But I think the vast majority of peoples rely on how we treat one another not seeing color but going by social graces that set out to help not harm others. Skin color may be used for a way of identification, as in I saw a man in jeans with a red tee shirt and black shoes run past a store, but for true identification we must say whether he was white, black, brown, etc... that is not racism.
True racism is hatred of all people who are different from you and who according to them could never understand what they put up with in life and thus blame everyone who is different from them for the problems they face. That as you say goes from one generation to the next and is spread within family units, thus the children learn the fear and hate from their parents as in always looking back instead of looking forward.

As far as racism is concerned, I think there is hope. The fight against racism has been a long and hard one, but the majority of racists are from an older generation with archaic values, customs and concepts of right and wrong.

With the help of the internet, we find that the younger generations are more likely to say no to racism. It is very likely that every teenager who owns a smart device has come in contact with someone from another race. Like Sweed1 says, the new generations become more adapted to getting along together.

Thanks to social media, interracial dating and marriage has become more frequent. Even interracial pornography is watched and enjoyed by many. As the world continues to modernize, the effects of racism are going to reduce.

Racism is a big curse for us. Whole world suffering from racism. In India it has been running for centuries. High caste people always torture the people of the caste below in India. Humans are treated as animals by not understanding human beings. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was such a person who always opposed racism. Today we also need to openly oppose this racism. Racism kills the fundamental right of our living. If we want to make our world beautiful, then this racism will have to be killed forever.

Racism is rampant in our society today. It was back then and it is now. It is more exposed now than back then and people are aware/ fighting it today, than before. More people care now, especially the young people.

Racism might decrease greatly in the next 50 years due to the popularity of race mixing and the fight against it. If everyone is mixed and looks the same, there will hardly be bullying or competition. If everyone is fighting against racism, there will hardly be any place for it.
