Talent and ideas are not enough to become a professional author, far from it. To begin a career, you will still have to work hard, against the advice of all those who will try to discourage you on the pretext that "writing is not a real job. To realize your dream you will have to receive a lot of slaps and kicks in the ass as explained to us today by most talented and prestigious writers and authors.
Message to all the courageous: roll up your sleeves and persevere!

Writing consists of having something to write about, and having the ability to present it
One does not 'become a writer' in the sense that one becomes an Engineer, or a Nurse, etc. One takes up writing like one takes up any sport or hobby. If you like it, then you do it as much as you can. If you find you are good at it then you consider it as a possible way to earn money.

I think the most courageous thing a writer can do is refuse to give up. If you have something to say you should say it, no matter what those around you believe. There is someone out there who can relate, who needs to hear your point of view or read your story.

The great thing about the internet to me is that everyone has a platform to say what they want to say. You can become a professional author so much more easily now than you ever could in the past, which means a lot more voices are able to be heard.
