It took me many years to understand that I was an artist. I just thought I was good at making things pleasing to the eye. From the time I was little, I have always taken the things around me, and put them together in such a fashion that something new occurred. This ability is a form of art just as painting is. Even child care can be an art.

I enjoy almost all forms of art. I have studied drawing, design, pottery, horticulture, leather working, and many other forms of expression.

So with these guidelines, can you see a way in which you too create art?

I love all sorts of art, even if that might be a bit of a generalization. I love looking at art, I love listening to good music, I love reading good literature, I love playing good games (which are officially an art form now, before someone disagrees :D)…

I’ve always thought of myself as a creative person, and when I was younger that manifested as writing. I would write short stories and song lyrics, mostly (and they were pretty bad, the latter ones). I don’t write nearly as much as I used to now, which is something that saddens me a little, because I always thought a writer was something that defined me partly.

But nowadays I draw too (I’ve gotten almost decent at it over the years), something I’ve started and quit many times over. I just never seem to be able to draw what I see in my mind and I get frustrated at some point and quit for a while. I'd love to know how to compose music, that has been a dream of mine since very young. I also used to play the guitar as I've mentioned earlier.

I’ve also tried stuff like clay sculpting, making silver chain jewelry, of course knitting and crochet, but those are just things that are fun to try and tinker with, not something I’d stick with very long (except for knitting, I once had quite a boom for that, I made several scarfs and 1½ sweaters).

I find that art can be anything that involves creativity and it took me a while to realise this. I had always been indoctrinated with this idea that art should be classical and formulaic but it can be anything from crafts to sewing to pottery. I love doing so many 'arty' things from listening to music to sewing and knitting. Although I do love to oil paint and draw, I also love making films and animating. Over the years I've realised that these are also art forms.

Growing up art has always been something that I've done and I never thought it would be such a big part of my life and career because it was just something that I would do everyday. I think that it's really special when you find your passion like that and get to do this for the rest of your life.

There's a variety of forms of art, from those having photos, architecture or other styles. To observe art of something can be interesting and have other benefits. For me, any form of art within reason can serve up to various possibility.
