If you have ever been a Christian, love is not a new term in the Bible. In fact, Christ Himself did say that we should love God supremely and love our neighbours as ourselves.

    What is Love?
In the book of john 15:13 says that ...give His life for a friend. In 2john 1:6, the bible says "....that we should keep His commandments" and finally john 14:15, "if you love me, keep my commandments"

    Now, what is Love?

Someone once told said love is:
Respect, understanding, and empathy. Love is when you take out all the fun, the passion, the romance, the feeling in a relationship and still find out you care for that person.

Love is not measured, but flows infinitely free throughout the universe. Love is simply uncomprehensible magic.

Love can do all things, cast out fears and love can even change a person`s characteristics. There are lots of things that love can do. God has given us the ability to love one another for us to stay together, because where would we be without love? Family, relatives, friends is useless without love. Love cast out fear, when you do something that you are scared of, you can have faith and strength that you can able to do such thing for the sake of love. Love is so powerful, it can make impossible things that we can not imagine. God made us because of love and so I may not be here if my parents did not love each other.

GOD is LOVE. According to 1st Corinthians Chapter 13: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

And this my dear, is the bibles definition of Love. :) Let's keep love alive.

Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being 'in love' which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away and love usually leads a person into falling "in love". "Falling in love" is primarily narcissism , while "loving" is generous and selfless. We call it "falling" because we tell ourselves and everyone else that it's out of our control, which very conveniently provides the perfect excuse to cover all the damage we do to each other.
There are only two intertwining phases to love. The first is the initial connecting of the body, mind, heart, and spirit. The second is the succession of choices made over and over that contribute to the living love that two people end up with in their relationship. Love is no joke. It’s a lot of work. Working to overcome your fears of intimacy, trust, and even a dawning happiness. I know that sounds strange but being happy can be a daunting task.
People falling in love with each other first fall in love with themselves as they see who they are or who they wish to be in their partner. Loving somebody is a series of choices we make daily for the opportunity to experience the original rush of love. As we fall more deeply in love with ourselves, we are able to cultivate the most powerful tools required for an enduring, loving relationship to another: trust, kindness, patience, motivation, inspiration, and joy.
Everyone can fall in love , but having and sustaining the opportunity to love someone, is a privilege.

Like in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe on him should not perish, but have eternal life”. It says that we should love like God, unconditional and selfless. Forgive and sacrifice for the sake of others. I would say that that is true love.

Love is patient and kind. If you love someone you should not expect any favor from him. Love has no conditions, it is a free will that must never be enticed or influenced.

When you love someone, love him equally as you love yourself this will be a true love.

St. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, “Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited, it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth. It is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.”

This verse in the bible has really struck me when I was able to truly understand what its message was. Love is purity, selflessness and happiness itself. Jesus has showed this kind of love to us in so many ways, and spoke about it through parables. This shows that a Christian love is not merely an emotion felt, but an act of mind and will. It is to love the way God loves, unconditionally. In everything that we do in our lives, to be embody what being a Christian truly means, we have to show and project love in all the little things we do.

There are 4 types of Love according to the Bible: (1) Eros, which is the romantic and sensual love; (2) Storge which represents the love of family and friends; (3) Philia, which is the concept of brotherly love that unites believers and is unique to Christianity; and (4) Agape which is the divine love from God. In all these, the common thought here is striving for what's best for your love ones and rejoicing in their happiness. Selfishness, pride, and violence have certainly no place in it.

Love is everything! Love conquers all. There is not just for our special one but also for the people who are near in our hearts like parents, children, neighbor and above all to our almighty God who created everything. Love is unconditional feeling. Love is the act of sacrificing, understanding, kindness, generosity, and loving others. Love has powerful virtue that binds us to be one.

'Water' is not the only elixir of life. The most important component that keeps us going in life is 'Love'.It is this element that adds a whole new meaning to one's life.It is during our difficult times, that we tend to approach our loved ones more often than we always do, to seek comfort and warmth. This sums up the reason as to why we humans approach God during the hardest of the hardest times.

Love lays the foundation to one's relationship. The more we give, the more we invest time in relationships, the more love we will receive .It is made up of 3 important factors namely:
    1)Empathy
    2)Trust
    3)Respecting each other's feelings
