Aside from unfinished tasks, forgotten responsibilities and weight gain. What are the other long-term effect of this?

There are many negative effects of an online addiction. If you spend too much time on the web, your work production is low. You stay withdrawn from your family. Online actions such as gambling can cause you to go into debt. Porn sites can cause disarray with genuine relationships.

It is good that you have asked this question which is most relevant today.I basically tend to agree with Antonio. There is a certain ephemeral nature to the Net it seems which we are attracted to and like to escape from our daily din and we become addicted; be it shopping or porn, Facebook or Youtube, all seem indispensable yet it takes just a walk in the park, some simple jogging or running, some outdoor activity or sports - not championship or tourney but simple games to exercise the body and cool the mind, just some friendly banter and basic courteous interaction with fellow beings to beat the addiction and to prevent the habit from forming in the first place. All this, of course, requires an effort from our side but it's definitely worth it regardless of immediate expectations.

One thing, if I spend all my time before the PC or on the phone, the eyes deteriorate and gradually lose power. Not spending my time outdoor in the sun or sitting indoors for days makes my body weak and I cannot digest or assimilate easily and then the lungs become weak and consequently, breathing capacity gets affected which we don't even notice. Then, of course, as I am not getting adequate exercise, overall blood flow gets affected and I develop heart related problems early on.Constipation has become so common that nobody even checks it anymore.

Now come to moods and tempers, spending much of my time online chatting and checking out Facebook, I have come to take the world for granted and I get irritated easily - often times even a friendly jibe which is now rare to be found and replaced by dissing makes me unsettled for no reason;I basically may have forgot even to smile without any expectation.I tend to simply react where there is no need to and ask and talk when I don't have to.Simply wanting things and hoarding them,I am creating a sort of hell in which I seemingly can't even breathe.Basically, the quality of embracing is decreasing with the quality of extracting increasing which makes me so unlikeable that nobody can even care anymore.

I have written this piece almost as a life philosophy and being preachy and bringing all rubbish but, hell, addiction, online or otherwise, seems like honey initially but I turn it into poison almost always so I'm going to try and beat it down and keep it as little as possible.

There are number of drawbacks of online addiction. Among them wasting time without actually executing with the day to day progress cause many problems. Well addiction is anyway not a good thing when compared to other segments. People actually being addicted to online work as an outcome of poor self esteem such as keeping on uploading selfies to social media just to others attention.
