What makes internet addictive?

Internet can be so addictive and one can find himself/herself not being able to do without it.For me,I find it hard to let a day pass by without browsing.Internet has become part of my life and now,I can not live without it.
What makes internet addictive for me is the urge to make a living out of it and have more freedom to be with my loved ones.

 

I think the internet is addictive because of all the social media sites. Facebook, Twitter, Snap chat and all the others I haven't named have a great impact on our future, both children and adults. I'm really not a social media kind of gal, I check into Facebook a couple times maybe a week! I find internet very useful for employment and house needs. Unlike myself plenty of people use internet for phone. If there isn't any internet a lot of businesses wouldn't be so successful. There is so much you can find on internet that may catch your interest, so you may find yourself using it for hours.

 

the net is very addictive simply due to its vastness. you can check anything on the net from cooking, gardening, news, technical material, even medical diagnosis. I am totally hooked to the net as i find myself checking everything on the net. It has made life so much simpler and more convenient. even for example when you want to buy a gadget you can search user reviews to make an informed decision. Things like youtube and netflix are just awesome. I cannot do without the net and am sure so many people out there will agree withe me.

 

Activities with unpredictable rewards are addictive. like gambling, searching for answers to questions & researching your interestes on the net. sometimes these activities pay off really well, or sometimes you just waste a lot of time and energy. Something about the unpredictability gets you hooked as well as the other points people have made.

 

The internet is one of the most addictive hobbies of all time. I feel that it's addictive because there's no limit on what can be researched. Whether you are looking for political news, directions, fashion tips, or just funny videos; the internet has it all. Also consider this for a reason the internet is addictive, we've been conditioned to want to stay in 'the know' and what better place to stay in 'the know' than the place everyone has to share?

 

The Internet can be one enormous escape hatch. When life becomes too hard and stressful, when relationships become too unfulfilling or unsatisfactory, it’s compelling to jump down into the rabbit hole of the Internet into a world of virtual reality.

These virtual communities create a vehicle to escape from reality and seek out a means to fulfill an unmet emotional and psychological need.

Well, of course its content. There are too many contents that you can search for. What interest you maybe listening to music, watching, playing games, reading and many more. These are the activities you can do with internet. That's why it's addictive. I personally spend time looking at my phone or tablet just to watch in youtube or play games once in a while.

People nowadays say that they will not survive without internet. But come to think of it, how does the people from early age lived without it?

 

Depending on what commits you to the internet, people have different degrees of addiction to the internet. A freelancer wouldn't mind working online between 4-7 hours a day considering they take short breaks.

As for me, browsing and researching things can keep me online all day. I love learning new stuff every now and then. Any complications that I don't understand about anything I just browse and explore options and read a lot. This keeps me going.

 

The internet is a place where a vast collection of information and opportunity is stored, just like this website. I think that most people can just get encapsulated in the deep, vast, library of things to view and learn by the Internet. Within the internet, there are countless things that people could occupying their time with; it could even be their job. Whatever it be, the Internet will capture your attention.

 

The internet is too eminently addictive. It is difficult to conceptualize a single day where internet is not available. It's nothing erroneous to be obsessed with the internet as it is structured that way, to magnetize the masses. It's like a black hole as it can absorb us completely. Deeper we cruise, more delectable it seems. I lose track of time when I keep browsing.

One more favorite activity that I dig to execute on the internet is chatting with my real friends who have moved away and with my virtual friends. It is a trouble-free means to get in touch with our loved ones. It is a great platform to meet new people, socialize and exchange innovative ideas and experiences with them. It allows me to let myself loose and fulfills my emotional and psychological needs. In short, I am having a blast on the internet.

 

Internet can be addictive when one person won't take it back. Internet is one of the most powerful force in the universe -- too way large -- perhaps the second largest next to the universe itself.

Not only the social networking sites can be addictive, but maybe in some 'genres' of the internet.

There's so many ways to addicting the Internet. On my experience, I browed everyday either from my cellphone or my desktop computer, but I'm not addicted to the Internet because other than Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other important sites, there's nothing I can browse, none; and I don't expose to the computer in more than 6 hours because of radiation and so many things to do without the Internet.

My simple advice for those Internet addics is control the usage, set a limit, and most importantly, set a bonding time to your family and friends.

 

Yes, Internet is addictive. Why is it so? Because, we as humans are dependable very easily. As simple as that.

In today's world, it is very easy to find any information on the internet. The more you browse, the more information you receive. You see, our brain has an in-built reward system. Whenever we do something adventurous or highly exciting, it rewards us with special chemicals called Dopamine. Now add that to ease of access and the ever increasing variety of services that you can avail from the internet. You start to depend upon it. Not only that, but the more you depend upon it, the more information you gather. Thus, you get rewarded for depending on it too. That's what makes it so addictive.

In many studies, it is found that addiction to internet is almost same as that of drugs, alcohol, violence, or porn! Better keep your use limited to what you want, and get a hold of yourself while using internet.

To make a new friend in a real world takes a lot of time.
You meet 100 people and u might make at most one friend.
statements like "I am friend with everyone" is like I play better straight drive than Tendulkar.
You open up , hang out , watch movies, meet their families and their other friends , go out for picnic or something. This is how the bonding and social circle is developed.
May be people feel that they get rejected or they cant accept anymore ppl in life or they are just too lazy to do all these things. They sit in front of computer to overcome the hollowness.

 

I think social media is the main course of internet addiction. In this generation we want to be validated by the number of followers in our Instagram and Facebook accounts, we measure our self-worth by the likes we get on social media. In this way, we spend so much time searching for followers and new friends.

To me, the Internet is a good tool but if it's used excessively it can easily ruin connection as human beings. I know you are probably wondering how this addiction will ruin our connection but let's look at the fact that it's easy nowadays to post on social media whenever we are angry rather than talk to a friend. People nowadays would rather chat the whole day and express their feelings on social media instead of joining friends to a mountain climbing activity which is much relieving and good for your health. Now we see how social media is one of the courses on internet addiction.

 

What makes internet addicting is that it opens you to a world of entertainment. People often use internet for social media in websites/apps like facebook, instagram, Snap chat, twitter and more to check the status, pics and videos that other people posts. Also social media is a way to follow celebrities and stalk exes. Some people love to post things everyday, it can really become a hobby. Another way Internet gets you addicted is by watching videos, series and movies. Website/apps such as youtube, hulu, and netflix are some of the pioneers on this services. Also online gaming is really addicting, it can be really fun to play with unknown people and test your skills.

 

The Internet has more than a million reasons to get people addicted, like if you like chatting a lot, you have platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Skype WhatsApp and the rest. Or you like playing games alot, you have the internet to download games or even play online without having, there's also pornography for sex freaks. with the internet, you can do almost anything.

 

I think the question is what doesn't make internet addicting. No matter what your interests you can find it online. The web is a never ending galaxy of things to see, do, read and interact to. It's all so easily accessible just at out finger tips. You can get lost in trail of cute cat videos or reading articles of the new conspiracies someone came up with. So I would say everything about the web makes it addicting.

 

Games for me make the internet addictive. I love games and the internet has tons of them. I play a lot of FPS shooters such as Rainbow Six, and COD. That is what makes the internet addictive for me.
