I will often be uploading large files online due to the nature of my new job, and I want to configure my system to use public DNS server. I have done some research on the internet about the best free DNS server that will give me the best uploading speed, but the answers I got were overwhelming and confusing too.

So, I need advice based on experience. Also, I would like to know how to do the configuration properly?

I have read online that Google DNS server is faster both for uploading and downloading. I can also confirm that I now enjoy better browsing speed since I configured my system to use Google public DNS server.

Here is how to get it done easily:
    1. Open "networking and sharing center" from the start menu.
    2. Locate the name of the network you are connected to and open it.
    3. In the new dialog box, click on "properties"
    4. Locate "New Internet Protocol Version 4" and double click on it.
    5. Now, select "use the following DNS server addresses"
    6. Then, fill the "Preferred DNS server" and the "Alternate DNS server" respectively with these numbers; "8.8.8.8" and "8.8.4.4"
    7. Please, remove the quotes.
    8. Now, click OK and restart your system.
Meanwhile, I encourage you to try other servers too before arriving at a conclusion.
