Who Lives With Diabetes?

I have type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed with it at twelve years old. Diabetes is a really hard thing to live with, especially as a teenager who hates not being able to be as careless as her friends about what they eat and drink. I mean, who wants someone telling them constantly what they can and can't drink or eat? No one wants that.

People who don't have it, can't even understand what it is like to have it. It isn't just the diet and having to poke yourself all that time, that is so hard. It is also how you feel when your sugar gets too high or bottoms out. I can't even count how many times, as a teenager, that my sugar bottomed out on me and threw me into a seizure or made me pass out. Not to mention, going through pregnancy with diabetes. It is the worst.

Who else has to live with diabetes? When were you diagnosed? How do you diet or do you diet at all?
