Why is Linux not good for gaming ?

    I want to buy a new computer for gaming and programming , so of course Linux is the best for programming. And gaming is Windows.But why is Linux not good for gaming , I watched a lot of videos where they compare Windows vs Linux for gaming. But Linux lost all of them , always around 10-30 fps lower then the Windows.But why do they say that Linux is bad for gaming.Does the 10-30 fps really make much of difference?
