We all have that game. Such a classic, inmersive experience, every once in a while you feel down, get bored, or maybe you need to get distracted, you have this one game you like to turn off your brain and simply play and play for hours.

Or perhaps you made it a ritual. Every time, when summer kicks in and in memory of your childhood, you try to catch them all! Or get all those damn stars in Mario 64, this time for real!

My personal "happy place game" must be Super Mario World. I can feel down, angsty, nervous or wathever, I boot that game and the happy music and colorful graphics instantly makes me forget about everything and just see Mario blast through the levels with his trusty cape.

So, do you have that game? Which one is it?

    Mine would be Sims.

I started playing it for hours when I was a little girl. It was Sims 1 way back then. I upgraded when the second and third addition came out.

It just got better every time and without any doubt would be my 'taking a break' game!

Everytime I just don't know what to play I come back and install an old Grand Theft Auto, either Vice City or San Andreas, those are great time killers and they're so well made each time I play them I discover something entirely new.

I used to play the Sims a lot since a friend had the original one with whole the expansions, so he would lend me his disc and I would install it in my computer. Right now thanks to the remake of Age of Empires II on Steam (HD Edition) I've been coming back to it from time to time, whenever I want to play something different

For me, that has got to be chess. No other game satisfies me like it; and I'm always sure to go back to it each and every time. That's one game that can never bore me, unlike many other games I've played before it.

Another type of game that comes close is the strategy-like games. These are the type of games that can always make me ask for more.

Clash of Clans. I think the best Android game on Google Play. It's really good game and you can play it like for years (which I like). Upgrading defences is fun thing to do. Clash of Clans became my daily-routine :p

Graphics are amazing and the new Builder Base is just amazing. Also creativity is required to play this game :) It's really important to build the best possible base (village) so players can't destroy it completely.
Clan wars are also good. Only two attacks are available.

The one I've most consistently returned to over the years has to be Europea Universalis. The way the game is designed makes it just so immersive and repetitive. You you wouldn't be able to play the same exact campaign twice even if you deliberately tried to play the same country at the same period and use the same strategy. It's kind of the appeal of the game, since it's basically meant to put you in the shoes of historical leaders during different historical periods and allow you to create an alternative history based on your decisions.

Another game has to be Assassin's Creed, if not for its well written plot, then for the sheer enjoyment I get out of climbing historical monuments as they stood centuries ago.

Well if I have to pick one game, then it is definitely Skyrim. It's a big open world RP ( role playing ) game with awesome graphics, and endless possibilities to amuse yourself. You can do almost everything in that game - explore the game world and dungeons, interact with NPCs , marry, adopt children, build a house etc. Skyrim also has great mod support, and since it is a pretty popular game also has thousands of user made mods available currently. If you think vanilla Skyrim is missing anything, just check out the mods - chances are someone has already made whatever you want.

I also like GTA Vice City, but I don't replay that nearly as much, since it's an older games with no mod support.

I would have to say Star Craft and its first expansion game Star Craft: Brood Wars which where made by Blizzard Entertainment, one of the top game manufacturers back then. It's a PC strategy game that offers offline play as well as online multiplayer games. The game was released in the late 1990's when internet connection is by dial-up network via pc modem. I think wifi wasn't invented yet back then.

Star Craft game play is all about strategy, outmaneuvering your enemy armies, laying traps and formulating attacks and counter measures. There are three (3) major races to choose from: Terrans which are humans in space suits; Zergs which looks like humanoid insects; Protoss which is a highly developed alien species. I always pick and play Terran. I was quite addicted to this game logging in for about 240 hours per month for several years. I still have this game downloaded and saved in my present laptop and once in a while I still play single player mode. This is my favorite game then and still is my favorite game now.

Two games, Civilisation V and Halo MCC. Both games will take hundreds of hours for you to complete, and have enough replay value for you to go back to again and again. Personally, I'm good enough at both of them to be able to play them just for comfort, and not for challenge, but both have ridiculously difficult modes if that's what you're looking for (LASO playlists for MCC are treatment for the clinically sane and if you want to attempt one I would recommend getting a therapist on speed dial)

My game that I always go back to would be Grand Theft Auto because the absolute truth is, it can never get boring. You have a whole city and a half to essentially do whatever you want, no matter how criminally immoral it is. There are no tasks, there are no goals, you just get to kill whomever, steal whatever, and almost do whatever you and avatar feel like doing. Not to mention, they have killer audio tracks in their radio stations and ever-updating adversary modes that can always provide a good 15-20 minutes of fun.

I’d say Super Smash Bros Brawl is the game I always go back to. It was the first game I really wanted for my own, and it’s one of the few games that my family members enjoy playing as much as I do. Being a competitor, with my family as my fiercest rivals, we’d play the game hours upon hours without end trying to prove that we were the best.

Super Mario Bros. is the game! It has always been a part of my childhood (shoutout to the 90s kids out there!) and so I must say that it's still "the" coolest game out there. Though now I heard that some nostalgic game developers who are trying to recreate Mario versions for either Apple or Android. Awesome!

I like the simple yet creative gameplay. The graphics are pretty easy on the eyes and it brings back lots of happy "joystick" memories. Plus the sounds... Gosh, I just can't get enough of the soundtrack! The characters are really memorable too. I just love everything about this game. Kudos to Nintendo for this classic favorite!

My game is more laid back. I'm always into the farming game. Used to play Farmville online, now I am playing Township. They have the similar idea where you would take care of a farm and make the place grow. I think I enjoy this kind of game because I like arranging the location of houses, the farm, and factories. I want to design what my town or farm looks like.

I'm also into short games that I can play offline on my mobile phone. I usually play this while waiting for my kids’ dismissal time from school. I installed games like Collapse and Candy Crush.

I have been busy a lot at home that I wasn't able to play games on desktop but if given a chance to be able to sit down and spend time in front of the desktop, would definitely play Resident Evil and Diablo again. I like the adrenaline rush when I get scared.

I aspire to be a doctor in the future. I usually go on Kongregate to play this game called Medical School maybe from 2010. However, I went on there recently and couldn't play the game, I was greatly disappointed.

The game that I always go back to is Mortal Combat. When I was a teenager, I met a lot of friends because of this game. This game brings back a lot of my funny memories, I remembered that me and my friends always skipping school just to play this game but we always been caught by our teacher. Every time I played this game it always gives me happiness, that is why I always go back to this game. This game is one of the best games of the 90's.

There are a few games I love going back to. One would be Fallout 4. The game is so well built but I only play it a little bit every month for some reason. I like the mods that are offered with Fallout as they really improve gameplay and make the experience better.

My go-to game is Set. The original version is this card game. There are 4 categories (colour, shape, amount, opacity) which all have three variations. We have to pick 3 cards that have all the same or all different variations in all 4 categories. It is just as difficult as it sounds. The challenge is probably why I have stuck with this game for so long. I still keep a deck of Set cards with me almost all the time and I have the app downloaded on my phone. It really challenges your brain to think, while being quite relaxing at the same time.
