I am going to go right ahead and start by saying that I know most guys will deny ever crying during a movie which as guy is something I can understand. I have to confess that even people who claim to have hearts made of stone have once or atleast twice shed a tear during a tender moment in a movie. I remember quite vividly the first time it caught me off-guard I was watching Titanic for the first time. I'm sure most of you remember the scene where Jack dies and the music kicks in (that's the part I started crying). Enough about me, I would like to hear from you guys if this has ever happened to you and if it has, which scene a movie triggered it.

The first movie that made me cry is the Train to Busan, a Korean film. I cried hard when the husband of the pregnant woman sacrificed himself just to save the rest of his companions and let them escape. He was so brave and he showed genuine love for his wife and child. Good thing is he was still able to name their child.

This is a good one Tru Aveli, one of the first ones I remember making a big impression on me just because I didn't have a lot of experience with old war movies, was a movie called 'Ballad Of A Soldier'.
It was about a world war one soldier getting leave from the front to go home to see his mother for the weekend and for some wierd reason that made me cry.

I'm a 48 year old man who regularly tears up when watching movies or television shows, so there's no way I can possibly remember the first time one made me cry. It was probably more than 40 years ago.

However, I can tell you the movie that made me cry the most: the 1998 film Stepmom starring Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, and Ed Harris. Basically, Susan Sarandon gets a terminal cancer diagnosis and has to "teach" her ex-husband's new wife (Julia Roberts) how to be a good step-mother to her two kids. I'm not exactly sure why this film hit me so hard since all of my parents and step-parents are still alive, I've never lost anyone to cancer and, at the time, I wasn't even a parent. Nevertheless, I still spent more than 90% of the film in tears and highly recommend Stepmom to anyone looking for a good cry.

The first movie that made me cry was Autumn in New York. It is a romantic tragedy starring with Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. They are both great artists and they did their bests in this movie. As the girl played by Winona Ryder is sick, you can easily figure out the end of their love story. I watched this movie many times, but I still cry at the end.

I watched Stepmom many years ago and it made me cry. It is a quite emotional movie. The strong character of Susan Sarandon amazes me and I like Julia Roberts' role.

I've never been in similar life situation but this movie had a big effect on me, too.

The first movie that made me cry was Titanic. I was still young at that time when it was released but my parents only bought a cd and played it in dvd player so I joined them watching a Titanic. While watching, I can really feel sadness at that time. I really felt bad for those people who were in that incident. Aside from sadness, It was frightful especially kids like me (at that time) and I kept on remembering about the incident in the movie and kept on thinking about what if that incident will happen to us. This movie overwhelmed us and I think not only us but most of the people who watched the movie.

I had a huge crush on Leonardo de Caprio at that time because he was very handsome when he was at his young age. I really admired him a lot because of this movie. He was very charming and really cool and I remembered him of his hair. Me and my friends portrayed the characters in Titanic and I was portraying Rose and my other friend portrayed himself as Jack. We were playing and portraying the scene where in Jack and Rose spread there hands together in front of the cruising ship. I cried when I knew that Jack was died from the movie and I want him back and alive again.

I vividly remember the first movie that ever made me cry. It was Marley & Me. I am the type of person the will continuously sob when any animal dies in a movie or tv show, but it takes a very emotional connection to a human character of a tv show or movie to make me cry.

I remember when The Fault in our Stars was new and popular, all my family and friends were crying so hard and I didn’t understand because I didn’t feel any connection to the characters. I pretended to be sad so that I wouldn’t look like a monster with no feelings.

"Taane Zameen Par". This is the first movie which made me cry during my school days. It is not like conventional Bollywood films. In our today's rat race, everyone forces their children to get first rank. Especially in India, most of parents consider studying anything other than engineering or medicine which is worthy. No one has patience towards late bloomers. This movie will show us that every child is unique. If you love children, you'll love this movie.

It is awesome to find someone so honest, a real man can cry without looking weak. I have not seen the Titanic but I have heard that it was a great movie, and I have had many people tell me that it made them cry. Keep being honest it makes a new post worth reading.

The first movie that made me cry was The Lion King. When Mufasa died and Simba ran away from home believing his father's death was his fault it broke my heart. I cried again at the end when Simba took his rightful place in the circle of life. My children think I have problems because I say it isn't a good Disney movie if you don't cry.

I came into this thread to say exactly the same thing. How on Earth am I supposed to get my 10 posts in? I'm silently judging you now. It is truly a classic film bringing the tragedy of Shakespeare's Hamlet to life in a context that's understandable even for children. I can always rewatch the old Disney movies because the hand drawn animation doesn't age nearly as bad as new CGI does. Try watching the first shrek again, those poorly animated blocks make that ogre even uglier now.

Lion King is the only movie I genuinely remember watching when I was very young and I remember watching it sitting in my fathers lap because the theater had over sold the showing. It's pretty heavy to make children cry in the first half of the movie. Come to think of it I've never seen another movie that tried it that early on. They usually at least wait until the ending so the movie goers can walk out with tear stains of shame on their cheeks.

I remember watching an epic movie called "igodo' a Bollywood movie,it was a very emotional movie that left me in tears. It was all about a naive orphan girl that found her self helplessly in love with a Royalty and the family made life very frustrating for her and this left her crippled.

It a movie with 2 parts and will leave one crying the whole day when the scenes from the movie playback in one's head. It could make one change his of her mind about love because in this case love was far from helping the orphan girl.

The first movie that made me cry was ''Titanic''.
I was only 7 or 8 years old and it was a New Years eve.
A lot of good movies have been played in my country around New Year.As I, usually, stayed up late, I was alone when I was watching this movie and the last scene where Rose and Jack say goodbye to each other made me cry.
Now, I find it very funny, as I would laugh to myself what made me cry but that was my experience with movies that made me cry.

Actually, I'm about to say that I never cry in any movie but then I remember something when I read your post. It's also happened in Titanic Movie that made me cry but not when jack die. It's a very small clip from the movie but it really leaves damage in my heart, maybe 3 to 8 second or less. That was when the boat is sinking and water goes on the ship and then there's a scene where two old couple didn't move any finger to save them selve but the just hug each other. I mean that moment really hurt me because they don't deserve to die like that, and I also love grandpa's and grandma's that's why.
