I sleep next to my mobile devices most nights. I do believe that these devices emit radiation that can harm you, but I do not believe this can have any significant effects on me. I always put everything on silent at night to reduce the likelihood of me checking for notifications when I should be going to sleep, as the white light emitted can reduce sleep, according to research.

No, I do not sleep next to my phone because I heard of the harmful effects that this can cause. Phone will emit harmful radiation which can damage your nerves. It is said that men should not leave their phones in their pants pockets because it will cause impotence.
It is also dangerous to speak on your phone while it is charging.
Something so useful can be so harmful. Wow.

I usually have my iPhone on the nightstand next to my bed while it charges overnight. I use the alarm app to wake me up. In addition, I am a substitute teacher and never know when I may receive a call to come in to work, so I must have my phone handy 24/7.

    Hi.
Am really sorry but I tend to disagree with both of you. If you are like the billions of people who sleep with their cell phone next to their bed, this could be causing many problems to your health. The radiation that smart phones emit are really dangerous and not advisable for any reason. This is true at any time of the day, but in the hours when we are sleeping, having our cellphones near us can lead to nightmares, inability to sleep and waking up several times each night etc.

The reason? It causes an alteration in the system of certain self - regulating process, such as your biological clock or cardiac rhythms. The World Health Organisation has stated that electronic devices in general (not just cell phones) are bad for the body and can increase the chances of developing cancer. They produce toxic effects that many scientists do not acknowledge, which is why you need to know that cell phones are based on ionizing radiations and wavelengths.

Although your cell phone may have an alarm clock you really should turn it off overnight because even when we are not using it, it communicates with base stations by radio transmissions. This means that the phones are constantly radiating electromagnetic waves into the environment, not just when they are being used. And placing it near your head while sleeping is like "spreading contagions" of these waves that do us no good.

I used to but I did stop after a warning was posed.
People who sleep next to their cellphones stand chances of contracting cancer and brain tumor which are both caused by radio frequency waves as they transmit and receive information.

However, this is a long term effect of sleeping next to your cellphone but not an excuse enough to ignore this information.

I usually sleep with my phone on a table next to my bed, but sometimes I do fall asleep with my phone next to me. I haven’t really thought about the consequences, since it’s such a habit for me.

Thanks for sharing. I’m probably going to start turning my phone off and leaving it in a drawer before going to bed.

lot of people used to sleep with their phone beside their head for the purpose of easy access to their phone instantly. the reason behind this is that most of the people use cellphones make their cellphones their priority in their mind. whenever they are, wherever they are most of the people right now can't live without a cellphone. I personally on the past i do always put may cellphone beside me when i sleep, so that i can listen to music before sleep,or have an alarm for the morning, and usually because i am chatting my crush overnight. But when i learn the study that cellphones can affect your brain because of radiation, specially overnight, i stop doing it. Now i have a little table 2 meters away from my bed, and there i put my phone when i am going to sleep.

If you are like the billions of people who sleep with their cell phone next to their bed, this could be causing many problems (imperceptible for the moment) to your health. The radiation that smartphones emit are really dangerous and not advisable for any reason. This is true at any time of the day, but in the hours when we are sleeping, having our cell phone near us can lead to nightmares, inability to sleep, and waking up several times each night, etc. The reason? The World Health Organization has stated that electronic devices in general (not just cell phones) are bad for the body and can increase the chances of developing cancer. They produce toxic effects that many scientists do not acknowledge, which is why you need to know that cell phones are based on ionizing radiation and wavelengths. One study in Australia showed that there is an important relationship between the use of smartphones and sterility in men, as well as reduced sperm quality. In both sexes, there was an increase in stress levels.

Although your cell phone may have an alarm clock you really should turn it off overnight. Because even when we’re not using it, it still communicates with base stations by radio transmissions. This means that the phones are constantly radiating electromagnetic waves into the environment, not just when they are being used. I do sleep next to my phone because I have 4 college kids and run an internet marketing business where I would pick my phone up throughout the night checking for emails and missed calls and/or text messages. I know it's dangerous to sleep with your phone by you or even have it on you as much, due to the radiation signals going from the devices causing cancer. The way today's society is set up; most people can't live without their phone, because for me my phone is my communication device for talking, video chatting, texting, checking my emails and web browsing for my business. It's a very useful and high demand device that makes me money while I sleep as well, so I have to make sure that my device is where I can see it; it's my money maker to the fullest.

The research you have red and found out about is correct. It is best to not sleep next to your phone or even have any sort of electronic devices in your room as they produce electromagnetic radiation.
Electromagnetic radiation can cause a lot of health problems especially when a child is sleeping next to it,the radiation can cause the child to get cancer as you said.So before going to bed, make sure to turn it off or just put it somewhere far away from you if you don't want to risk getting health problems.
I knew about this a long time ago,yet I still i forget about the health problems it can cause and still sleep with it because I need an alarm to wake up early in the morning and my only alarm is my phone.

Yes I sleep next to my phone either next to me on the floor or on the bed because it is the only thing I have to use as an alarm clock. The other reason is my husband works really late nights and he calls on his break I don't want to miss his call when I am sleeping so I keep it next to me until he gets home on days that he works. Now that it is summer time and I don't have to get up to wake the kids I don't sleep with it next to me I just get up when the kids do.

I agree with you, because I sleep with my phone next to me a lot and on the floor, because by having kids in and out of school for the summer time and while they are in school; you never know when you will receive an important or an informative call. I tell you it's never a dull moment.

Yes I do, there are many several reason why I keep sleeping next to my phone. Sometimes my phone is turned on even at night because sometime I am expecting a message. It is also convenient to be use an an alarm clock. It is very effective when it rings I notice it really fast. I don't miss a single notification or call. There are also times that I wake up and I just feel like want to check my social media accounts and news feed, then I don't have to stand up and grab my phone because it is already within my reach.

Emergency is also a reason to sleep next to your phone. You can quickly grab it to call the police or the ambulance. No one knows what might happen. I even did that and I guarantee it is very effective. I had to call a doctor that time, and also the police. From that experience I started to sleep with my phone. I do really recommend it but just don't plug it while you sleep. Who knows it might explode and may put you in danger.

I do not sleep next to my phone. This is because I am knowledgeable about the effects of the radiations that the cell phones emit. This radiation cause cancer and we all know that as per now cancer is the number one killing diseases in the world.

I therefore try placing my phone as far away as possible when am sleeping, or even sometimes turn it off.

Yes, I always do. I know it's unhealthy but I just can't stop myself from doing it. I always use my phone before going to sleep and after waking up and study shows that doing that makes us easily get stressed throughout the day and makes our energy levels low, and that's just a bad habit to do but I still keep on doing it, I want to change that habit and I'm motivated to do that just because I want to have more energy, the more energy we have the more we appreciate things around us the more we are optimistic in life and more engaging with others, and that's something that I really want to do, so I will cut that bad habit of me.

I've been using podcasts on my phone to help me sleep at night. And I haven't died of cell phone cancer. Not once. Just because someone said once that phones cause cancer doesn't make it true. They've actually recently shown that since we have switched from analog to digital phones, we are actually ALL less likely to ever get cancer from our phones. Recall bias and inaccurate reporting have led to the perpetuation of this myth.
