I've been hearing a lot about getting this 5-10 minutes pause during the day. To try this out, I went to YouTube, found out a 10 minutes guided meditation and followed it for almost a week.

Since that day, I have never looked back! I got acquainted with this enormous advantage of meditation. Meditation gives you a state of mind, so that you can deal with any kind of situation in your life. Particularly speaking, my job involves interacting with more and more people to achieve more as a team.

In such kind of situations, there are different kinds of personality traits and mindsets at play. Doing meditation for 10 minutes a day has really provided me benefits from the aspect of keeping calm. Previously, the situations used to take a toll on me and I would feel demotivated and demoralized.

I would like to hear from you all. What are your thoughts on Meditation and its health benefits?

    Hi Aditya,
Meditation provides a moment to contemplate over issues. It gives one an opportunity to take a break from the routine activities and think about the next course of action to take which would bring an improvement in performance. Meditation is also good as it provides time for self reflection and soul-searching. The time for meditation should be free from interference so as to achieve its meaning and get the best out of it. However, it is common for the mind to think about certain evils at some point during meditating. But is always good to meditate.

Meditation can be very healthy for the mind. I have just begun doing this, with the help of my doctor.

I'm in recovery for drug addiction. Having a drug addiction is not an easy thing to overcome. Thru the help of my doctor I have begun using meditation. I have seen that it helps.

Upon waking up each day I meditate in silence for about 10 minutes - no music, no chanting, no thoughts. This leaves me with a clear head and the focus to get me through my day. There's no better feeling than starting off the day with calmness and freedom from all mental baggages.

Yes I do try to meditate at least for an hour everyday. Meditation is very necessary to fight the problems of stress and depression. Meditating regularly makes your mind and body , healthy and revitalised.

I follow the technique of Vipassana meditation . Vipassana is an ancient technique of meditation which was rediscovered by Buddha.
Vipassana teaches our mind to remain in the present moment, not in the past , nor in the future. It has helped me a lot to tackle my problems and helped me in living a stress-free life.

Meditation is a way of life. I practise this since I was 15 years old. My grandmother teached me the basics. After that I went on several courses to gain more knowledge. For me it is one of the most important things in my life. It gives me rest, supports me through making difficult decisions and more focus. If you practise selfhealing, meditation comes hand in hand.

I'm very glad to hear you had many benefits form your meditation practice, Aditya!

I do meditate every day, even when I feel my practice is useless and I find my mind wildly wandering in dreams and memories! I keep going anyway because, like you, I had so many benefits from my five years of meditation practice. First of all a clearer mind and more awareness of my actions during the day. Also, I'm more mindful of the intentions behind my actions so I can avoid now to take sudden actions without thinking beforehand!
Moreover, I find myself much happier because I'm not carried off by self-destructive thoughts and self-sabotaging patterns.
