Religion is losing ground across the globe. Societies are being transformed and the momentum seems to be unstoppable. At this point you might be asking yourself a couple of questions. First, is it actually true and even if religion is losing grounds, could things change?

I'm going to argue that, yes it really is true and no, things won't change. Modernization has predictable and permanent effects. What happens is young people enter adulthood being less religious than their parents were. So there is a process of generational replacement, where older people who are more religious die out and they are replaced in the population by younger people coming up behind.

For most people, religion is something they have little or no interest in. The transition is underway and because it proceeds by generation replacements, it works very slowly and will be going on for years to come. Do you think there is a way back for religion?

It seems as if religion is loosing the value it once had as a result of new developments especially philosophy that has tried to prove that there is no God.However,as much as such developments may greatly affect religious believes in some people, others will only become tougher in their religious stand.Besides, some studies like history use biblical references in indicating the time as seen in the use of AD and BC (whereby AD is believed to be an abbreviation of After Death and BC Before Christ).

The death of religion does not occur because one feels that he has been let down by the promises of this or that deity; or that stories passed down to him seem quite unlikely to be true. The death to the religious dimension of man (and the society in which he lives) can only come about if thankfulness dies in him.

It is a very welcome development that the religion as we know it, is loosing relevance in the minds of young people. Young generation is less susceptible to the barriers that each religion imposes on it's followers.

Religion is the most divisive force which continues to be the source of all conflicts and wars of the world. Every religion has a different God. Each religion wants to establish the supremacy of there God over the other.

I think that all these divide religions should be dissolved and we must all follow a single religion of Humanity.

This is not something new. It was prophesied very many years ago. We are living in the times when the narrow and wide ways in the bible are coming into being. As more youth and adults get lost and brush aside religion, is when end times nears. They are choosing their paths. As for me and my house we shall serve the lord.

I believe that Religion will not die. There is a vacuum in man that only God can fill. People that are rich and famous can only find true satisfaction through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Like the song says, "There's a God shaped hole in all of us, and the restless soul keeps searching." Or something along those lines.

I agree that religion, as a whole is losing ground. But the need to know God rests in each and every one of us. Whether or not we persue a relationship with him is up to us.

The death of religion is very unlikely for various reasons. One is that not all humans have the same status quo and the same mentality as one another. For example, even though it is proven that the earth is round by various scientific explanations, there is still an minority of people out there that refutes the scientific evidence and the idea that the earth is round and perceive it as flat. Second is that from the time of birth, a human being may have placed all of their loyalty and dedicated their life to their religion and God. Thus, these peoples faith shall not waver in the test of time and in the sight of torture.

Lastly is that scientific evidence may even prove some religions existence. For example, the theory of the big bang was thought to be started by the smallest point of singularity and then exploded into massive loads of energy for some reason. But according to Albert Einsteins equation of E=Mc^2, it is stated that mass could be converted into energy. Thus the idea of the smallest point of singularity must have contained matter. The question is, what does this matter come from? Due to a lack of scientific understanding, only religion could prove its existence with the idea that God created the universe. Certain people may refute this theory and question of how God created thyself. The answer to this is that due to the fact that God had created time and reality, God therefore existed beyond the 3rd domain of reality and the 4th domain of time and lies beyond the explanation of humanity knowledge of quantum physics as with the idea of the human soul. As a result of all this, religion will not die as long as humans reign.

Slowly religion as a whole is fading away, and that's a fact that is pretty clear.Humans are have become more preoccupied with daily activities to the extent that they forget to create time for religion. This has a negative to the young upcoming generation since they end up being brought up in a less Godly way which kills their faith.I think parents have a vital role in the rebirth of a religious society again in the world.

Failure to bring up the upcoming generation religiously may lead to slow death of religion.Although it's also clear that religion will not die completely since there are some individuals deep into faith that no matter how the radical changes in the world may be,them and their generations can and will still withstand the test of time and maintain their faith.
