    According to Naturopathy system
    • Eat two meals a day
    • Drink at least two - three litters of water a day
    • Exercise one hour daily
    • Fasting once in a week
    • Prayer
    This is know as "panchatantra", by "Dr. Venkat Rao"

    Now according to "Yoga",
    Food is divided into
    • Satwik - vegetables,fruits,and raw foods
    • Tamasik - non vegetarian food
    • Rajaswik - spicy,and salty food
    Yoga says "one should consume satwik food,to lead a healthy life"

    Eating a healthy diet is another part of healthy lifestyle. It can improve your health and quality of life as you get older. Exercise on a regular basis, it will help maintain flexibility and as you age, improve moods and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. It sounds so simple, its funny just how hard it is to do all of those things in our current world.

    My philosophy on healthy living is (in no particular order):

    *Daily meditation
    *Since the one and only thing in this world we have 100% complete control of is the way we feel then feel good/positive as much as possible everyday
    *Stop eating processed foods
    *Stop eating fast foods (most fast food is more of a science experiment gone wrong than actual food anyway)
    *Eat more fruits and vegetables and less meat especially pork
    *Drink tons of water
    *Get no less than 5 hours sleep every night
    *Do some form regular exercise no matter what it is

    I have always been keenly observant of how our psychological and emotional make-ups affect our entire body health and I realize that, to be healthy and hearty, one has to safegurd himself or herself from trapping into psychological and emotional hand-ups.

    Now, in our modern days, having a healthy lifestyles is a great challenge. I have some ways of keeping the healthy living now a days.

    First, have good quality of sleep. Enough sleep according to our age is very essential. Sleeping helps us replenish energy for the next day. Stay away from gadgets before going to bed.

    Second, drink plenty of water. Water hydrates our body to have a good circulation.

    Third, eat fresh and healthy foods. Eating at home is a very healthy idea. You can be sure of what you eat and what on your food.

    Fourth, do exercise. Even you have no time to exercise, walking will do.

    Lastly, have a positive mind. Think positively can help both body and mind healthy. I can help also for us to be happy everyday. Have a positive mind can help us achieve our goal for living a healthy life.

    Health is a state of the mind, we all know that the mind is the center of reason and decision making. A healthy mind results in a healthy living life. What is a Healthy mind?
    The mind is the doorway to the spirit or the real you and the body responds to the command of the mind, so it depends on the quality of information that your mind processes. I doesn't start by changing your diet but It started with knowledge, either told or read it doesn't make a difference, the point is that the information reached your mind.
    1) Knowledge.
    Man is what he thinks and you can't think beyond what you know. All that is inside gets reflected from the outside. Fist you must expose your mind to relevant quality information, this is important because it settles your mind and you become in control. Knowledge imparts a sense of responsibility and there for action. The mind prepares the body through knowledge. This is the point, before the activities, study first and get your whole system into it.
    1a) Morning exercise.
    Morning exercise prepares the body to actively respond to days activities. It also refreshes and increases the capacity of the mind to accomodate more.
    1b) Enough sleep.
    Sleep is another important aspect for healthy living, it gives the mind and the body time to relax, this increases memory power
    1c) Balanced diet.
    There must be a balance intake of body nutrients that helps in the proper functioning of various parts of the body and supply.
    - Since the body needs energy then energy giving food must be consumed in a controlled measure, these are proteins.
    - Protective food: these are mostly frouts.
    - Bodybuilding food: these are carbohydrates.
    2) Taking a short time break from normal work activity is also important, It opens up the body and mind to new experience and routine, some of which are
    - A visit to the zoo
    - Attending a night party with friends.
    - Taking a vacation to the neighboring city and much more.

    If you want to live to 100, leaving a little bit of food on your plate may be a good idea. Author Dan Buettner, who studies longevity around the world, found that the oldest Japanese people stop eating when they are feeling only about 80% full.
    Be careful what you eat. Three meals a day without the extras could be a solution.

    Eat like a king in the morning, eat like a prince during lunch time and eat like a beggar when having supper. When having supper try not to have supper after 8 p.m. Drinking a glass of warm water before bed and upon waking up. Taking at least one tablespoon of olive oil per day. Having yogurt now and then. Drinking okra water now and then. Sweeten tea with honey or baobab pulp. Limiting coffee but taking more of moringa, ginger, turmeric, rooiboos, white or green tea to mention a few. Cooking spices and chilli first when cooking then herbs last.

    Have meals with warm teas or drinks. Try as much to avoid very very cold drinks they are not good for the digestion. Most importantly, do not chew food with your stomach, warm food with your stomach, clean food with your stomach.
    Have at least one day per week of warm water fasting. Use coconut oil, olive oil, sesame oil, canola oil for cooking. Do not unscrew your belt after a meal. Do not eat fruit straight after a meal but after at least 45 minutes to an hour. Do not drink lots of water straight after a meal but after at least an hour.

    Wear well padded shoes make sure you do not feel every stone on the ground when walking or running. Vegetables should occupy three-quarters of your plate then palm size protein and palm size starch every meal. These are some of the simple ways of healthy living that I know.

    1. Eat well. Food build our bodies and mental health. For the body to gain strength and energy, one needs a balance diet; for the energy carbohydrates are needed, proteins are required for body building. Simple healthy living requires eating well.

    2. Sleep well. Enough sleep is health for the body, without sleep the body becomes inactive. Having enough sleep enable one to carry its daily activities successfully.

    3. Be social. Interaction is very important for a health living. No man is an island, every human need another human for interaction. Having good relations with others is good for health.

    4. Do something different. For a health living one needs to go an extra mile from the normal activities, when you get free time have a walk of nature or visit relatives.

    It's really not that hard to have a healthy life, All you have to do is eat healthy with lots of vegetables and fruits, drink a good amount of water and fluids and do some morning exercise. it's really that simple.
    Sleeping a good amount helps your mood and try your best to stay away from stressful situations.
    As long you are feeling good then you are health is good too.

    To live healthy, we need to incorporate different things. Regular exercise, healthy foods, avoiding too much sugary foods, drinking lot of water, having at least eight hours of sleep can all help to live a healthy and happy life.

    Achieving a healthy life requires a combination of various things. The human body is like a machine that requires various things for it to run effectively and that is where aspects such as healthy diet and exercises come in. To achieve a healthy life, one needs to eat a healthy and balanced diet that includes carbohydrates, proteins, and vitamins. A balanced diet helps in supplying the body with energy that makes it effective on day to day basis. Physical exercises help the body to improve its immunity, build various tissues, reduce the chances of disease transmission and increase blood circulation. Another very important aspect of achieving a healthy life is having peace of mind. It is advisable to live a stress free and engage in exercises such as meditation that help in refreshig the mind.

    I like what DirkZiff said. It is true that health is wealth. No matter how rich you are, but if you are being disabled by a disease, then how you can enjoy life?

    For me, the best way to have best health is to declutter your mind from all forms of life's stresses. One must learn not to overthink. Just pray, sleep well, work well and eat well.

    Well, I think the normal things like, healthy diet, exercise, quit your vices and find happiness. Healthy diet will help you to stay healthy and avoid some complications on your body specially if you're getting older. We should know and be aware about the foods that we are going to eat. Do exercise, it will helps you to develop your body and become stronger. Exercise will also help you to circulate your blood properly because your heart will pump fast during the exercise, and it is also good for your lungs and will develop more your cardiovascular system. Quit your vices if ever you have, like smoking, drinking liquor beverages and other vices that may cause to harm your body. The last is to stay happy. Avoid the things that can cause of your stress, like the negative people and things. Sleep eight hours a day also, well, if you have time.

    Eating healthy, exercising, and refraining from bad habits (smoking, alcohol, and drugs) is what can be done personally. Might not be easy, might require some determination and will power but if others can do it, so can you. Last but not least, schedule and take regular physical check-ups, especially if you are in your senior years, as some illnesses actually do come with age. Focus on precaution and prevention.

    To stay healthy is to be in the pink of health! Bubbly face with burly pinkish cheeks indicates happy healthy personality! Well, if it isn't make-up. Yes, there are many things that contribute to a healthy living and being healthy for as long. Not just drinking enough water, not just exercising, not just eating "healthy" foods, not just sleeping well and what not all, but it is the healthy mind with healthy thoughts that also contribute to a healthy living. So to say, mentally fit is also part of the equation for a healthy living.

    How much water to consume, how much of exercise, how much of food, how much of sleep is not what matters. Anything and everything that satisfies at a point of time is sign enough to halt. Overdoing may lead to serious health issues that may drain oneself by the pockets (due to the doctors' visits and medications) and thereby lead to endless worrying and weariful thoughts. In turn, health takes the beating to a sulking figure unmindful of such happening.

    Drink water to fulfill thirst. Exercise to keep the body flexed and not frigid. Eat to satisfy the hunger and not the tongue. Sleep to wake up at the first instance of coming to senses from sleep and not laying lazily upon the bed. Work to earn and learn to work for working it out. Buy what your money can and be happy with what you have. Do good to others and feel that eternal happiness. I tell you, with all the experience thus far that you and I can live healthily for long by following these simple steps. Else, fall for the health fads and bother yourself to the brim of grim staring into your face. Wishing you all a healthy living and staying healthy.
