I prefer to watch movies in the theater because it's totally a fantastic experience. The dolby sound impact and watching movies on the huge screen would take you to another world. Whereas, there is a lot of distraction while watching movies at home. With kids around, I'm sure you are not going to enjoy watching the movies at home.

The only reason why i choose to watch movies at home is because of experience i get when watching the movie all together as a family.Even though watching movies in theaters is much more enthusiastic I still like watching them more at my house with my family.

Personally, I prefer to watch movies in the theatre. I enjoy being able to see the movie on a large screen so I can see all of the details and really enjoy the movie. I also love movie theatre popcorn because I feel it adds to the whole movie theatre experience. Lastly, theatres offer unique features such as 3D or IMAX, these features aren't typically available to use at home.

I like watching movies at home and at the theater.

The reason I like watching from the comfort of my couch is that I have total control of when, how and with whom I watch the movie. Its fun being able to pause for a pee break and also there's no interruption from people talking, laughing or screaming like at the cinema.

The reason I like going to the theater some times is that the experience is totally different and immersive. This is especially true at 3D cinemas where one can really feel like part of the action that is taking place in the movie.

I prefer cinema. That big screen and sitting in the audience with other people is unique feeling. Not to mention watching 3D movies on that big screen, which is more than amazing, watching hd movies on big cinema screen is still better than watching them on a home TV. I love the audience interaction with the movie, for example, if there is some funny scene on the screen, everyone starts laughing, which makes the movie more joyful for me. So, if you ask me, cinema is the best!

I definitely prefer to watch movies at Home, instead of the Movie Theatre. And by-the-way, I haven't even visited a Movie Theatre in Years !
Just seems to Ol'-School to me, and to boringly conventional, to like ask someone out to go to any Movie Theatre.
A female would probably think I am a guy with no uniqu-spontaneity or something. Plus I don't tend to be tempted by any Movie Previews enough, to even want to go to any Movie Theatre.

So therefore I just chose to stay within my very own comforty zone, and watch Streaming Movies at Home instead.
There has been times when I had invited someone over to watch a Movie, but that's different though I think.
To me when I do that, it is to imply that I want a time for becoming intimate with a female;more-so.
(So I think that bringing up any particular type of Movie, is already considered to be apart of the ploy, for attempting to become intimage with a female.)

And overall, even the Streaming Movie Pick, intended to watch at home, would even involve a Love Scene.

Watching movies alone is what I prefer more than going to cinemas and see the movie with a lot of people, especially when it is a Marvel movie. I understand that there are millions of Marvel fans around the world, and that includes me. However, when I go to cinemas, aside from the voices of the heroes, villains and screams from people in distress. I hear a lot of murmurs from self-proclaimed Marvel gurus. I'm not against people sharing a lot of information from Marvel, but most people do it in cinemas. They should understand that you go to cinemas to see a movie, not talk about the movie.

My experience may not occur in your country, but here in our City, it is so common and if you were an ordinary moviegoer, you'll get annoyed. However, I do not totally abhor them. I would prefer talking to Marvel fanatics after watching the movie.

On the other hand, I prefer going to cinemas to see horror movies. It may sound cowardly, but I feel secured when I see the movie with friends and with a lot of people. I prefer to scream with them than to scream alone or at home. Also, that receding fear when you know that someone's with you through the fear, that's what I feel when I see horror movies in cinemas.

I prefer watching movies at home. It is one of our bonding moments with my family and besides there's no need for a movie ticket which for me is a bit expensive. I just make popcorn then buy coke then we're good to go. No hassle, no traffic and saved a little money.

I prefer to watch movies at home because I am a kind of person who value privacy. That doesn't make me a recluse..Its just that the crowd at the movie theatre plus the irritating odour oozing from people's body is sort of a bummer.I enjoy watching movies alone.

There are advantages and disadvantages of both.

The film experience is better in the theater. The screen is bigger, the sound is louder and so on. For some genres of film, this is a big deal (genres that rely on spectacle. Eg some war movies, action films etc). For others not.

But, going to the cinema is expensive. It'll run me at minimum 120 pesos in the Philippines, likely nearer 140 pesos. Also, there may be people being noisy in the screening, or annoying kids that will kick seats etc. I also can't get up to go to the toilet without missing some of the movie and must pay exorbitant prices for refreshments.

All in all, I prefer watching films at home.

I prefer watching movies at home because it is so convenient for me. I don't usually don't have time to go out so I often watch at home. I can watch with my family too when I'm home on our free time, and this is more enjoyable. At home, I can watch while laying in bed and eat whatever snacks I want to eat without paying for it expensively. The movie ticket in the theater is also more expensive for me than subscribing to streaming websites like Netflix.

I don't mind watching movies at home or at a theatre. For me, watching a movie at home guarantees more freedom if I want to pause the movie or rewind it. However, watching a movie at a theatre provides for a greater experience, since the big screen and louder volume further drives me into the movie itself.

I prefer to watch movies at home because aside from the fact that it is cheaper compare from watching in cinema I think it is more comfortable specially with the kids because in your home you can sit anywhere you want to and make any position you want like lying anywhere will do while watching.

Hello Ivan! I definitely agree with you that there are advantages and disadvantages of both. The film experience is definitely better in the theater but the problem I tend to have when I go to the movies; whether it's alone or in a group, is "FALL ASLEEP"...lol. I will admit that I very rarely go to the movies unless it's planned or I am going on a date.

You are right, movie theater have become so expensive just to relax, watch a movie while having some popcorn and a soda. Did you know that according to www.statista.com; "Going to a movie theater has been a growing expense since 2001 when admission cost 5.66 U.S. dollars. However, to watch celebrities on silver screen in 2016, an average American needed to pay a over 8.50 U.S. dollars." And believe it or not, even though there has been a rise in prices, movie theater visits amongst us American adults is still high.

In all, we have something in common; I just prefer watching movies at home as well.

Exactly! This is why we usually go to see movies that we've anticipated at the theater and things that we are just interested in at home. We like to enjoy the experience of our favorites in the best ways possible. We usually re-watch them multiple times at home. Usually, for the movies we watch at home we are not as highly invested in them.

I love watching movies from the comfort of my house, with my wife, in the bedroom. Besides a big TV, I have a computer next to the bed, connected to TV through a HDMI cable and we can watch movies from both TV channels and Netflix. It's very comfortable and we never get bored. I also recommend to the others this way to watch movies from home.

I prefer to watch movies at home. I have twin 6 year old boys and being home close to our own bathroom is always more convenient! We can also eat anything we want while saving lots of money and being comfortable on our own furniture, with our own blankets and being able to snuggle up can't be beat.

One additional benefit to staying home is complete control. We can control the entire experience from temperature to volume and pausing any given time.

Does anyone else watch with young children?

Watching movies at home can be pretty great depends on your aquipment and surroundings. Being with family and friends it's a great experience. However going and watching a new film in the theater that you have looked forward to is something else and leaves you with a feeling for the movie a longer time usually then if you see it at home.
