What's the best way to control your appetite? I have this problem where if there is food around without thinking about it I'll grab a bite and wait it. And once I start snacking I can't stop throughout the day. Bit if I'm fasting and I don't eat at all I'm good. I can go without just fine. But as soon as I eat something without even thinking I'll keep returning to that and keep eating snacks.

That was my exact problem sometime back until I discovered the power of food s in high fibre. It became so easy easy to manage my appetite. Eat filling foods, food s high in fibre before meals and you will thank yourself later. They have a way of reducing appetite and making you stay full for long and don't forget your 8 glasses of water per day.

I would offer start buying no more than your daily allotment of food each and every day to make sure you have nothing else around that you'll mindlessly put in your mouth. After about a week you should be able to expand to two or three days' worth of food, but continue to eat just one day's worth each time. Eventually you'll learn that if you don't purchase other food you won't be eating it. I keep nothing in my house that isn't a part of my daily routine. I buy groceries once per week and buy just enough to eat for seven days. Once you reach that point there's no turning back really.

Recently, I have been experiencing a very similar problem. I feel like I am constantly snacking, even when I know I'm not hungry; I find myself bored, and I reach for food without even really realizing what I'm doing. I have been trying to control myself when I go grocery shopping and only buy foods that I can eat for meals, like soup. Avoiding having any snack foods around is helpful, but I still find myself thinking about food whenever I'm not occupied with other things.

To control my appetite, I drink two glasses of water before a meal. Water help decrease the hunger I feel before a meal and increase feeling of fullness by stretching the stomach and thus promote weight loss. Alternatively, if I don't take water, I eat a bowl of soup before a meal to serve the same purpose as water.

On the other hand, I opt for a diet containing sufficient fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and seeds as they contain a lot of fibre. High fibre intake stretches the stomach, slow it emptying rate and lead to feeling of fullness.

For me, less sugar. Once I've been more or less of sugar for 2 weeka(not counting fruit) I feel a lot more balanced and crave junk food a lot less. If you can make yourself eat healthy for a while, the longer you do it, the easier it is to continue.
As well as meal prep. Having fruit and nuts and yoghurt at home for snacks, having meals that are healthy, but that you love ready for you. My biggest issue is what I eat when I get tired and stressed and just don't have the patience to think about what I'm eating anymore. So having things ready helps immensely. Not that I'll never eat badly again, I have times when I still eat chocolate or junk food etc, but it's a lot easier to not feel guilty for it when most of your eating is healthy. So then having unhealthy treat every once in a while is not an issue.

Aside from drinking a lot of water is to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables especially raw ones. The idea is once your stomach is full there will be less craving for healthy or unhealthy food. After fasting even for just 2 or 3 days the desire to keep my gut clean is so high. As much as possible I would like to eat everything fresh and nothing to do with artificial sustenance. If I could have my way I would like to consume only those which are freshly picked from the trees even though it’s expensive.

Another one is to imagine what your organ would look like after binging over bacon, burgers and chips for so many years. Always keep in mind what you eat is what you are. If you eat fit you'll become fit. Not only will you look good you'll feel good as well. In the Philippine houses specifically with poor tables whatever dish is served you need to eat it whether mouthwatering or makes you imagine your in a fast food chain at that moment and far away from the you know what. Everybody should avoid overindulgence not like what our consumer world says that we will die if we don’t feed. There are so many benefits of depriving ourselves of meal that would forced our bodies to burn fat and create new cells most importantly blood cells. If you’re going to start this for the first time it will feel like you’re going to perish but if you get the hang of it you’ll enjoy the so many benefits. You should try whatever works for you and enjoy life!

Margaret really brings up a good point. Something that I've always found super helpful would be drinking a TON of water before, during, and after eating. I often find that it really helps with satiety and food cravings. Another thing that might help you with your situation could be check the nutritional value of the food that you're eating. In addition to checking the amount of fibre that is in the food, you might also want to look at the amount of protein in everything you eat. A good combination of fibre and protein seriously keeps me full for hours! Hope this helps :)
