Laptop or Desktop - Your preference?

I know laptops are convenient and handy to use whilst you are on the go, but for a concentrated effort doing a paper or article they can be clumsy and slow.
What is your preference?

 

I have been sticking with a desktop for a while wishing to get a laptop for like years now. And now that I finally have one, I can tell that Laptops can't handle new games unless you upgrade them that will cost you money. So if you just want to play games and not do much outside with a computer, take a desktop. But if you love doing things outside, I'd prefer laptops. It really depends on what you want to do with it.

 

I choose Desktop computers as Desktop computers are a lot more powerful for half the price, yes, they're not as portable as a laptop, but it's a lot more powerful. Maybe, Laptops will be as powerful as Desktops one day, but who knows?

What about productivity? You can only use 1 monitor with a laptop, unless you buy this extension, with the extension, it does give you an extra 2 monitors to make the total monitors up to 3, but you can't use it on your lap anymore. Well, you can, but it'll be a lot heavier and more awkward to use.

Overall, as I mentioned at the start, Desktop Computers are my choice.

 

I have both a desktop computer and a laptop. I typically prefer to use the desktop because the hardware is much better than my laptop even though it's much older. When I purchased the system I made sure it was something that I could upgrade. All I really need to do is purchase some new RAM chips and I should be good to go for another four years or so.

The laptop is really convenient for the times when I have to submit reports while I'm on the road. Other than that, the most use it gets is playing nCrave videos on Swagbucks while I'm working on the desktop.

 

I choose a laptop. Laptop is good for vacation and for offices. For a few months I will buy my first laptop. I need it for forums and websites.

Computer is good for gaming and programming. If you have an online job and you don't go on vacation, a computer is for you.

 

My personal opinion is that laptops are better because you can take them anywhere you want. On the other side they are not as fast as desktops. If you are looking only for a machine to do articles, texts and papers laptops are literally made for your job. Laptops are invented for this. Afterall it's best for you to choose what you really need.

 

I have both a tablet and a laptop, a laptop have a way of becoming your best friend. I do everything on my laptop, which I couldn’t do with my tablet. A tablet is mainly a gadget you use while on the go or just for hanging around the house. Tablets are great but can get frustrating when it’s time to type for e.g.: a resume or even a projects. Bluetooth keyboard are available for tablets but still lack the comfort and feel of a laptop. When choosing a tablet or a laptop you have way your option, think about the main purpose of getting this gadget. Most importantly your life style but it’s still a noble thing to have both, just in case you have some reading to do or pictures to take.

 

Desktop for the means of customisation clearly If you laptop fails you either pay huge sum or you buy a new one.

 

I prefer desktop for three reasons. First, I am a gamer and I need a good machine to run my favorite games with maximum graphics details to improve my experience. Moreover, they last longer and are capable of bigger and more powerful hardware equipment and they are not as difficult to customize as laptops. Second, the desktop is easier to open and modify. Futhermore, repairing a part or replacing it on a desktop is much easier (and cheaper) than do the same on a laptop. Third, it is more comfortable to play in a desktop than in a laptop. Because the keyboards are great for desktop, with larger keys and better ergonomics.

 

I have both desktop and laptop computers I work with. For the majority of my work I use a desktop computer. When I am working away from my office I use a laptop computer. I enjoy using both computers and each one has a purpose.

Furthermore, with a laptop computer I won't store large amount of data on the device. K keep a hard drive with my important information on it. I take this with me when I need to visit a client's office. I worry about my laptop being stolen and how much security you need to protect your data. Therefore, I only keep my laptop loaded with the operating system and the programs that I need. The rest of the information is stored on a flash drive or removable disk.

 

Desktop computers are the best!

 

I prefer Desktop since I'm very used to Desktop and I haven't ever owned my own Laptop. Although, Laptops are easier to take anywhere so a little better than Desktop.

 

I prefer laptop. As for a traveler like me, I really need a handy dandy laptop. So that I can make use of my time even though I am in a travelling time.

 

Setting up a desktop takes some extra work to hook everything up and get it up and running. It also requires more space to set up. While it's not difficult to connect everything together, it is still more cumbersome than a laptop.On the other hand,laptops are built to be easy to use, requiring little time to get running. Take it out of the box, plug it in and press the power button. Within minutes, the laptop is ready to use.

 

I own a laptop, because it offers you more mobility. A laptop is more comfortable, you can put it in the way you prefer. With a desktop you have to adapt to the computer, while with a laptop the device adapts to you position. For my lifestyle i prefer a laptop, because i'm a student and i usually travel a lot.

 

Desktop computers are usually better for gaming but I love laptops, preferably Macbooks, because they are so easy to take everywhere with you and it's so comfortable to sit on a couch and read news or something.

Desktop - easier to maintain with parts replacement and upgrade, better for high performance; can't take it everywhere you go
Laptop - offers flexibility, good for business and everyday activites; when you need to repair it, hope it still under warranty or prepare your wallet

Laptops are good (don't get me wrong - i got one desktop and two laps and one surface) but with today's quality of parts you need to be careful - buy a lap with a long guarantee and you're good otherwise go for a desktop.

 

I prefer a Laptop because it's portable. Some people might say that you cannot have the performance of a workstation in a Laptop, yes they are right, however, VPS came with the solution, if you have just a regular laptop, you can access any workstation with powerful processor and ram of your choice any time you want.

 

The brand of the laptop could have more to do with the performance of the computer. Also, a operating system would need to be kept in a best condition as possible. A traditional computer is not very different from it besides the size and features it obtained.

 

Laptop is more preferred in countries that there are no electricity
