How often do you look at the internet in the course of any given day? Do you whip out your phone and browse your emails, plus Twitter and Facebook (and perhaps Pinterest too) every twenty minutes? Do you find yourself unable to tear yourself away from that tiny little screen? Do you find that after watching one video on YouTube (just one) you go on to watch another and another, until a full hour has passed?

Or do you utterly DESPISE that little screen, the source of terrible headaches and wastes of time? Do you actually use a flip phone, using a computer for the internet, and only an hour or two a day?

I work in a company in which I have to use Internet daily. I am online on Facebook almost four to five hours a day at home chatting to my friends. At my home, I use Internet to entertain myself though music and videos. During weekends, I spend my whole day browsing different informative and entertaining websites. I can't live without them. I lose myself when I browse the Internet. It is the only place that satisfies my soul. Before sleeping, I chat to my friends daily on various apps on my mobile through Internet. I always wait for Sundays. With my Family, I watch movies on Netflix and listen to songs with my cute little kids. I think I am an internet addict.

Where I work, I use the computer from 8-5 just like Sangita has confessed. It is a great challenge because internet addiction is enormous. I am often tempted to browse through many programs, and I tend to overwhelm myself with the information. The result is exhaustion, headaches and time wastage. There was a time I used to chat with friends through many social forums like Facebook, Twitter, persons.com, tagged and many more.

I realized my moral standards were in question. I decided one day to abandon them and focus on constructive things. Nowadays my challenge is looking for unending ''money making opportunities''.

I use the Internet for various activities: study, play, research and listen to music. I spend most of my time online, yes, but I don't really consider myself an addict, as I can just turn it off and go on about offline business without being affected by the lack of "wire". If I would consider myself an addict, I'd say I'm addicted to knowledge and random facts about the world.

I am an internet junkie. Without it, I wouldn't be able to work and be in the know of what's happening. It's my radio, television, digital newspaper and all things you can imagine. It's the air I breath because I make a living out of this so I consider it a big help. Oh, and my addiction started over a decade ago.

I am a moderate internet user and I really love to surf and read. I take the internet as a great tool, not only for the daily news, but for the learning and eventually if it is possible earning something out of that activity. I am not sure if that can be an addiction, but I also like to write on the internet, either it is commenting, like in here or it is the blog posting.

I use internet every day all day. I could loose all the blood in my body and still live but 1 day of not being connected to the net, I would be die. The YouTube thing you mentioned, I do several times a week every week.

I have been using computers ever since they became a household item. I can remember Dos 3.0 Operating System, 40 mb fixed disk drives ( Hard Drives ), 1.2-MEGABYTE 5¼floppy disk ( Flash Drive ), etc... I was one of the first 10,000 people to sign up for Yahoo when they first came out. The Internet is my blood, my lifeline, my reason for living (joking). I do love the internet and being connected.

    Borg? Sign me up..!

I'd say I am an internet addict because I usually start feeling panic if I go a few days without using the internet. It's usually the thought of not knowing what other people are talking about, not knowing who has e-mailed me because I'm usually expecting some sort of message or news from someone I know.

Interesting events usually happen when I am not able to access the internet for a while.

For me, I can honestly say that I am addicted to the internet to an extent. I don't know the amount of time I spend on the internet. All I know is that it's a lot of time. The sites that I check most often are Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

I love looking at people's photos and posting my own photos on Instagram. I love to chat with various people, too. I like to see what everyone is up to on Facebook. I chat with my friends as well. When I am on YouTube, I become addicted to watching videos. I listen to music, and I also watch documentaries, my favorite TV shows, and my favorite movies.

I like doing research on the internet about various things as well. I feel like the internet can be a very useful source of education. There is just so much to discover. This is why I love the internet so much.

I believe it is safe to say I am addicted to the internet. Since 2008, I have been looking for ways to make some bucks from the internet. I love to chat with friends, meet new people and learn about new things from around the world, I often visit Facebook every day even though I may eventually post nothing. I read news online, reach my Chinese traders online, search for scholarships online. I virtually do most of the things I do online.

Almost every registration in my country is now online. I guess the addiction is necessary.
More importantly, the internet allows me to reach my traders from another country as easily as if they are at the next door. The internet has helped me to learn the history of many nations, so the addiction is profitable.

Speaking the truth am an addict too. The first thing I wake up in the morning is browse all latest movies, episodes that are out & download them all. From browsing all day long and working online not only keeps me glued to my computer screen but also in the evening when am supposed to relax I still find myself scrolling through my phone.

But what's more interesting is that when I really have to cut it off, I do it without much thought to it. I believe I can live without internet for a day but not much more than that.

I use the internet and am probably an addict too. For me, it was cable or internet, and we chose internet. My kids are gamers. They are online gamers all day. They weren't even watching the cable so I cut it. Now, I have to get my news online. I can watch some things online if I am bored. I work online. I use the internet to find out what is going on. I am always using the internet. Whatever I want to know, I can go online and find on the internet. Who needs t.v.?

I stay on my iPhone, I know it's horrible for my eyes but I'm still glued to it. I wouldn't say I'm addicted in a sense but then again I think I am in certain aspects. I can go without my phone at any time if I'm doing something or keeping myself physically or mentally busy, even though I do get the urge to look at social media if I'm at work and not doing something for 5 minutes.
When there is nothing to do I will go back and forth through numerous apps Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Snapchat. I honestly don't even care what people are doing on their snapchat stories I just skip through 90% of them, I suppose I just do it to pass time. YouTube is another story, I'll get so distracted with watching random (and when I say random I mean RANDOM) videos I'll check the time with what seems to be 20 minutes and two hours have passed.
I definitely plan on letting go of most of the social media once I have my baby the beginning of next year so I don't miss the important things. Bye bye Twitter and Facebook and probably snapchat!✌️

Actually I can say am an addict to the internet. From the age of 18 when I owned a phone until now, no single day have come to an end without me visiting the internet. I find it very helpful and educative. I like Google search engine which has almost everything that you need of course by the help of different websites.

I'm sure that I am. Only with my laptop, though. I don't need to look at it when I'm out of the house. I use the internet almost every day. Every now and then I feel tired of it and leave it off for the day.

I really believe that it's nearly impossible not to use the internet today, as everything is connecting to the internet, from appliances to traffic cameras. While many may only look to the obivous connection, the mobile phone in their pocket; we overlook the many other internet interactions.

Just to list a few of the most overlooked daily internet interactions; most stores and restaurants offer wifi and they collect all sorts of data about your shopping habits using their loyalty cards or mobile apps. Many tvs are connected to the internet thru streaming services, as well as VOIP phone services. Renting a movie from the local Redbox outside your corner store is also using an internet connection. The internet is woven in just about every part of lives in some way and constantly being intergated in more and more parts of our lives.

I used to spend too much on the Internet, without a shadow of a doubt. The moment I woke up each morning, the first thing I would do would be to grab my iPhone and it would barely leave my hand all day.

Six months ago, I decided enough was enough. I got rid of my iPhone, and bought a basic mobile phone which did not have Internet access. This meant that I was no longer late for work every morning (which I often was when I had my iPhone as I would be surfing the net before work when I should have been getting ready for work), I started reading a lot more, as my commute was spent reading rather than surfing, and I'd say I am actually more sociable now as I call people to chat more, rather than just guessing what they are up to from their social media updates.

I still have a laptop and an iPad, but now my internet time is pretty much limited to a couple of hours of an evening.

Has anyone else here ever taken such drastic action to cut down their internet time?

Yes , I have to say that I am on the internet about 7 hours a day. I love looking up different things like clothes, shoes, really a lot of fashion . I also like looking up ways to make extra money. A lot of people say they are lost without there cellphones but Im more lost without my computer.
