I believe it would have been working well before internet.

The possible ways to communicate in a long distance relationship before internet were postal letters and telephone. Another very interesting method was conveying verbal message through someone who is trusted by both.

A long distance relationship would have worked before internet because not being able to meet and communicate easily makes one to desire more to be with the other. It strengthens the love and relationship.

With internet, one can communicate with another easily 24*7. Thus, communicating 24*7 but meeting once in a while actually might have adverse effect on relationship. Suppose, you have a bad day and express you frustration and stress while talking/chatting in evening. This would many times make stressful conversation. And not being able to meet quickly after such conversation adds up to the matter. If this happens regularly, it will be hard to sustain the relationship. What do you think about this topic?

yes sometimes it is good but not really recommended, because there are times that abuse occurred. Maybe it should be better if they meet in person and continue their relationship online when they need to go places maybe for work or different location to live

I believe before the internet was invented, calling people, sending out letters, postcards, and telegraphs were ways people communicated long distance. Meeting in person is always the best way, though. However, I guess it can be possible to just communicate long distance if that is the only option available. It all depends on the people and their preferred styles of communication.

Long distance relationships survived quite well before because life was slower. Letters took days, months or years to arrive, telegraphs made communication easier, telephones made them faster. The internet has made communications faster and easier, now we can talk whenever we want and have video conferences with loved ones far away at any time. People have become less patient, I think, this is the 'I want it now' generation. I always remember a story I heard when I was young about a couple who had to escape from a terrible flood in the 17th century and were separated. For twenty years they searched for each other, only hearing whispers and stories of possible survivors until they were happily reunited.
