Internet teaches a lot of things that parent can not. Instead of regulating children's internet, they should look into teaching them how to use internet for better purposes. For that purpose we as a parent should know well about internet. We should provide them good interest so they would not go behind wrong things.

I have been using internet since last ten years, so I know how to divert them towards proper use of internet. How to avoid them from inappropriate content. There are a lot of good things on internet which we can introduce to them.

Things we can teach them about internet are
    1. A good use of YouTube. Subscribe them informational channels on YouTube so they will learn some things and increase their general knowledge and understanding.YouTube have videos on each and every issue in the world.
    2. News websites - Teach them how to read news, bookmark some good news websites on bookmark bar.
    3. E-mail messaging - Children should know how to do e-mail. They should understand difference between genuine e-mail and spams of lotteries.
    4. Search Engine - They must know how to find particular website. Suppose they have given a project then they should be enough qualified to do project on their own.
It goes on and on. It simply means we should spend an hour or two everyday teaching things. Parenting does not mean keeping them in control or stopping them. Let them fly in discipline. have a good day.

By regulate i meant parents should be incharge of what their children have access to in the internet,i did not mean parents should forbid their children from accessing the internet.

Yes I do believe that parents should regulate their childrens use of internet. There are so many things on the Internet now a days that kids should not see. I would limit there use at least while they are younger to just educational websites and games. Kids are already exposed to so much stuff in the world and the internet does not help.

Parents should not let their children have access to the Internet if they do not trust them. I'm talking obviously about teenagers, a parent would have to supervise a small child to make sure they don't accidentally click on something they should't and download a bunch of viruses. But for a teenager, a parent should not monitor their child. The NSA already does that! lol

Parents definitely have to regulate their children's Internet usage. I take every measure I can to prevent my kids from accessing websites I don't want them to visit, apps I don't want them to download, and anything adult related. There's way too many potential dangers online for kids so parents have to know how to control content and if they don't, they need to do some research.

Yes, lots of underage kids get too much unrestricted internet time these days. You can often find them on social media, meme websites, and especially online video games. This is where they learn how to swear from other kids their age, and it is just an endless vicious cycle after that. One generation of kids teach the next, and so on and so forth. What really irks me is the fact that after giving their children unrestricted internet, the parents of these now-rude children often blame video games as the cause of their lack of parenting. It can be argued that without their supervision, the children have learned about things that are definitely not appropriate for their age, and now they are finding a scapegoat to blame all their flaws on. It is a truly sad thing to see, and frustrating too. As those children, as well as their parents, taint the video game community with their childish presence and constant complaints. I can't remember the last time I had fun at an online game, to be honest. It's always the same 14 year old children running around in the game lobby spewing profanity, while their parents would later complain about it online.

Parents should regulate their children's Internet use. Personally,I would prefer a parent to be present when a child is surfing the Internet. There are many websites kids could easily have access to, and some of those sites could display explicit content or violence. I don't think it would be good to let a child be free to go on the Internet without any supervision.
