As posted this thread because I am a big fan of scary and suspense movies. In last time I don't even watch horrors anymore, I prefer thrillers more. Which of them you like more?

Both! What I watch depends entirely on my mood. I haven't watched much of either lately though. Much too caught up in anime.

Both vary in their own ways. I for one like more horror compared psycho thrillers. This is because I tend to get my spine tingling from watching outside phenomenal horrors like paranormal or supernatural ones than a spooky psycho wielding a butchers knife movie.

Well, you should watch both because a good movie isn't good because of it's genre, but because of the story and characters. I for myself like psycho- thrillers a lot more than horror movies. It's because of the emotions. A psychological movie is more complex and gives you deeper information about the characters. It gives you more to think about, and also psycho- thrillers often have horror elements that can scare you much more than a usual jump scare.

I'm a big fan of psychological horror films, those who really make you believe that you're experiencing the situation and of course, you can almost feel the pain/fear that the main character is experiencing. And as I've mentioned a lot of relatively new horror movies just have a lot of blood everywhere and jump scares... and those movies do nothing for me.

I personally prefer the psychological horror/thriller kind of film, those films that don't have almost any jump scares, but do have a really creepy and dark atmosphere, those are the movies that scares me the most. Nowadays most horror films are filled with jump scares or gore, so there are only few movies of this kind.

Psychological thrillers! That's my favourite genre! They are like dark mysteries with twist endings. I love the ones that totally baffle me till the film's last minute. Shutter Island is a great example. I like the movies that let the audience explore and find out on their own!
I think that most supernatural horror films are pretty gross. Some are so abstract that the plot gets dull before reaching the end. The ones coming out now are mostly boring.

I find horror flicks somewhat senseless, though. After you get scared and all the characters are killed, what then? There's no end in sight. I prefer psycho-thrillers simply because they make you think. You try to understand the psycho killer's motive or wonder what happened to him in the past and caused him to behave that way. Although I admit, psychological thrillers are usually scarier than horror movies.

Psycho-Thrillers are much more intriguing, exciting and interesting to watch (but I also like to watch horror movies, even though most of them are being very generic for a long time).

I'm a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock - considered the father of the genre: Suspense/Psychological Thrillers -, and this certainly influences me a lot because my first references about this genre are of his films. Most of Hitchcock's films have always had good stories with tense atmospheres, great and complex characters and many twists/turns along the way ... Everything always well developed , consolidating the quality of his work and influencing people around the world.

I do like some thriller movies, but I would definitely prefer horror movies, although most horror movies now days have bad ending like everyone dying. I find most thriller movies boring, some are okay but i would definitely prefer a horror.

I like both horror and suspense thrillers, if they're combined that's awesome!! BUT although I love horror and gory movies I catch myself looking away on the gross parts because I get grossed out easily. It doesn't make much sense why I would love gory movies but hey what can you do?! Haha. Suspense thrillers keep me turning on all the lights as I go through my house just to be safe!

From your average horror theme movies, Psycho-Thrillers theme movie are 10 times better and more interesting to experience.
The best one ever see is Confession(Japanese Movie). you should check it out. it has probably the most simple yet brilliant executed story ever.

Sometimes psycho thrillers become predictable particularly TV series, example Dexter. You know who is going to be killed; pretty much the same method of killing the victim; same disposal of the body parts, etc., etc. If the storyline hadn't included an innocent person being killed I believe I wouldn't have watched it to the end.
