I always wonder how do you decide to watch a new movie. There are so many new movies getting released every week. Every movie has a nice trailer. Do you decide to watch a movie basis its trailers or you wait for the reviews?

I have also witnessed people watching just about any movie, they prefer a good company of a friend and that's it. Is a good company good enough to watch any movie?

Well, for me deciding which movie to watch was never a problem. Usually I pay attention to the work of my favorite actors or actresses and whenever the new film starring any of them is out the chances of me going to the movies is pretty high. The same goes for the directors. If I liked their previous works I'm more likely to enjoy the new ones. Another thing is the adaptation of my favorite books though it happens no that often lately.

As for the friends, sure, it's always better to watch a movie in a company. But I doubt I'll go watch something I'm not really interested in just for the sake of going out with friends.

When I used to watch any movie, I firstly used to make sure about its reviews and of course the star cast, I mean the actors and actress. The genre of the movie is also an attractive points.
I generally likes to see fight movies from which I can learn many moves .

I check out the movie posters first and then I look up what genre each of those movies belongs to. The poster is what must attract me first. I usually like posters that are really creative. There are many filmmakers that rely solely on digital art to make a great poster. If the poster almost reveals what the movie is basically about, I turn my attention towards the others.
I am a big fan of Italian commercial art films. Bernardo Bertolucci is one of my all time favourite directors.

I make sure I can include the whole family, or maybe a couple of friends. By doing this it will allow for a better trip, and a fun experience to share. I also look to see if it's in the one of the genre's I like, or I will wait after the first viewing to see the reviews. Trailers also help me decide.

I prefer to choose comedic movies or movies with some sort of comedic take like satirical maybe. I would go with the funniest one of course but I would bother saving up enough money to see them all as long as I have the time. I do not recommend movies that are too serious; they make me sad like just delivering negativity for my thoughts. Romance films are the only kind of serious movies that are near to being an exception to this, whereas most usually bring about normal to romantic thoughts for me. Ironically, I do enjoy a good drama because those type of movies will get you going and do stimulate your thought process. Likewise, a good action film is a good choice for any thrill seeker trying to face minimal risk.

So, what I would do is figure out what type of mood I AM in and then write a list of the ones that I like which match up most to that. Save your money. Timing is the final part of the process. Think to yourself: "which movie is showing soon at a time good for me?" "What kind of experience or reactions would I like to have then?" The latter is best done at the movies itself. Lastly, go to the movie and enjoy.

I usually follow some steps which I consider important when I decide what to watch in theaters: Who is the director? (this is one of the most important steps) / Who is the main writer? (also very important) / Who are the actors/actress who are in the film? / Is it a remake or an adaptation? / Watch trailers (but avoid spots tv)... Besides that, I always read the specialized reviews (it's a habit) to get an idea of what's in the movie.

And no, a good company isn't good enough to watch any movie (for me, this is more a lazy excuse to spend time :)).

I usually just see the preview/trailer and if I'm interested from there I will look up more trailers for the movie(s). If I still feel interested I'll look at the star reviews, if they are lower like 2-3 stars and I still want to see it I will go but if I decide "ehh I don't feel like it" then I won't.
Or if it has been out a few days or a week or so I will ask someone what they thought of the movie, if people like it and say I should go see it I may sway more to seeing the film from good reviews.

I think the best movies I have watched were last minute decisions. For me, going to the movies has always been my 'break time. I use that time to get away from the stress of my constant work/family life balancing. I often go with my friends who also need their 'break time.'

My movie routine involves planning and coordinating with friends according to our various schedules, working out a narrow window of time, then pouncing on the film with the most interesting picture displayed at the movie theater. If there is a tie between two movies, we do a quick tiebreaker from the car by watching the trailer on our phones.

Trailers and previews play a significant role in my film selection process unless the film is apart of a franchise. Typically if I already have a preexisting relationship with a film franchise and past releases met my expectations, I will view new offerings on the strength of the franchise's credibility.

Most recently, I viewed Central Intelligence with my son and found it quite funny. Internet and television advertisements led me to make this viewing decision.

First thing I do is go over the comments. If there are at least five positive comments, then I watch same thing applies to youtube videos. Sometimes, despite negative cooments and reviews, I proceed with seeing a movie just because I know people could be quite silly attimes hating on an amazine piece,
By the way, the last movie I saw was a waste of time despite the media hype.

The first thing I do is head over to youtube and watch the trailer of the specific movie I am interested in. Usually I can guage from viewing the trailer if the movie is exciting enough to view.

Sometimes, there is a movie with a trailer so awesome that I make a mental note to go see it as soon as it hits theaters. Even if I saw the trailer months before the movie is released, I cannot help but to remember how the trailer made me feel as soon as I find out that the movie was released. Pacific Rim comes to mind as one movie that, as soon as I saw the first trailer, I already had decided that I was going to watch, no matter what.

When movies about which I know very little come out, I almost always go look at reviews for it before deciding whether or not I'm going to see it. This has made Rotten Tomatoes a very influential part of my movie-going experience in the last few years.

How I decide which movie to watch is very easy these days. Of course I have my genre preferences (action movies, period movies, sci-fi, biblical, etc…). I too go to YouTube to watch as many trailers I can find. Trailers are very helpful these days. They come in domestic and international releases. I can get all I need from the trailer. I review the ratings, the content, the feel, the entertainment factor and the benefits to me personally.

Posted reviews are always helpful. They bring out issues you can’t get from a trailer. And of course, you must look out for Spoiler Alerts with reviews.

I often ask myself, how will this movie benefit me and/or my life? What desire will it fill? Will I be able to share my comments on the movie with my family and friends? Yes, I take my movie watching seriously because a movie has the potential to affect you for the rest of your life. I’m very pick with what I set before my eyes.

Trailers are definitely a huge part of picking what movie I want to see. Another big factor is the cast. Even if the plot of the movies doesn't necessarily catch my eye, if some of my favorite actors or actresses are in it I'll still give it a shot. Especially if the actor or actress is a comedian, since I've noticed that sometimes the trailer doesn't portray the movie very well and the actual movie ends up being funnier than I thought it would be. As for as whether or not good company makes a difference in whether or not I'll see a movie, I would generally say no. If the movie isn't one that I want to see, I wouldn't waste my money on it just to go with my friends.

I normally watch the trailer, check out the cast and the director. In most cases, more often than not, I don't watch movies if they don't incorporate artists that I have seen or watched before. For me, once a film casts Morgan Freeman, I'll definitely check on it, same with Denzel Washington. I don't actually resort to my friends in regards to which film to watch. I tried to watched some of the movies they recommended and I ended regretting watching them.

Usually, my wife and I check on trailers before watching a certain film. Perhaps it's good to know the plot of the movie before watching it and will definitely save the time if the movie is not a decent one.

Basically the trailer tells me if I'm going to watch it or not. The trailer shows some plot and if I don't like it at all, I just won't watch. Then the trailer also tells you some cast members, if its a actor/actress that I like watching its a better chance that I will watch it. And ratings don't really bother me, not everyone has the same opinion. So I normally just try the movie out for myself.

If the trailer looks interesting enough, then I'll check it out. Some of the trailers can be over hyped up only to be very boring, so it's good to do your own research. My routine is to usually not go the first night but to wait from feedback from persons who've watched it already.
