Do you play piano, guitar, are you a tambourine man? I've been playing guitar for 4 years now, most recently I've incorporated harmonica, and drums. Picking up an instrument in general has been one of the most essential parts of who I am, and who I'm becoming.

It's shaped me for the most part, it drives me, it is an insatiable past time, and with a swig of passion can turn time to timeless, as has been heard by many great artists...

What do you play? There is never an empty reason in the world of music!

I play the acoustic guitar. I started taking lessons at 12 and I am 17 now. Music has always been a passion of mine and making my own music makes me feel amazing.

It would have to be an electric guitar for me. I just know that the sound of someone shredding on the strings has always been one of my favorite sounds of all time. The 90s rock scene are possibly what made guitars my favorite instrument. Whether its a thrashing rock song or smooth blues guitar, anyone who plays one well will always seem to have this mystical ambiance to them. I can't quite put my finger on it. I’m already a pretty cool guy now, but I am sure that if I ever took up guitar that I would be ten times more mysterious than I already am. I think that playing the guitar is the closest thing that we can get to strumming a heavenly harp as we can get here on Earth.

I was taught to play piano at age 5, but had to stop due to the birth of my brother. My mom didn't want noise to bother the baby. Then about 4 years later at age 9-10 I began taking lessons again.

At 11 years old I picked up the clarinet. It was fun being able to play another instrument. This continued until I was 13, where I moved up to the bass clarinet. It was love at first sound!

I kept up with the bass clarinet through high school. Senior year of high school I decided I wanted to do something new so I leaned cello. It was so different but just as enjoyable!

Throughout the years I played around with flutes, trumpets, and trombones. I would definitely love to learn more instruments in my future though.

A guitar. I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now. I have a Fender Strat and a no-brand acoustic. I mostly play blues, pop, jazz, and rock, and the strat is pretty much the perfect guitar for those genres. The main reason why I chose the Strat was because of my idols. Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Frusciante, and Knopfler are few of the many people that influenced my playing style.

I think I can play piano not as well as a pro but am pretty good at it. Having started simply out of curiosity in our local church a few years back. I really found it interesting on playing a few keynotes, then simple Christmas carols to now even composing songs whenever I feel like it. I think its important to everyone to learn at least one music instrument in a lifetime.

I've been playing guitars for about 5 years now, but it's very difficult for me to create my own music, so i mostly play my favorite songs.

Bb Clarinet. I played from the 6th to 8th grade and I was first chair. It was tough but I hated playing in concerts in 2nd or 3rd chair. I worked my backside off to get first chair my first month in band. I remember it like it was yesterday, but it was 14 years ago. I'm a huge fan of the woodwinds in general, but I'd pick the clarinet every time. I'm leaning towards playing the bass clarinet soon....I'll attempt to update you all on that;)

I've been playing piano for 14 years, and flute for 7 years. Both instruments I've played for school, so there was pressure on me for a while to practice harder and do better. Now that I'm in college, though, the commitment is far less, and I love just playing my instruments for the fun of it. Without the pressure, it's just relaxing. :)

I played the flute in high school band. I picked one up a couple years ago, and I still remembered the scales and my last competition piece. I was a proud little band nerd!

I play piano. My family sent me to my uncle (a professional music teacher) for lessons when I was 8. At first I hated practicing. But as I moved along and realized I could play my favorite songs I began to love it.

I have an acoustic guitar but I can't play it. Someone gave it to me about 5 or 6 years ago but I never learned how to play it. I love the drums though. Ever since I was a little kid, it has been my dream to play the drums. I've lost count on how many times I asked for a drum set when I was younger. I have played them a few times though and it was so much fun. I have a friend that let me play his a few times. It's kind of harder than it looks haha.

I am a classically trained pianist. I also play the saxophone and clarinet. I started playing the piano at age 3 and joined the school band in the 5th grade to play the clarinet. By the time I reached high school, I was playing the tenor saxophone, clarinet and bass clarinet.

You know not taking band classes in intermediate and high school is something I regret, always. I wish I'd taken band classes in school. If I did take band classes I'd like to have played the flute. The flute is easy to carry and I like the sound the flute makes. I tried to self-learn to play the shakuhachi no luck, lol. I did not learn any musical instruments, but wish I'd learn the flute. The flute, guitar and shakuhachi are the instruments that I wish I could play. This is a shakuhachi or Japanese bamboo flute.

I started practising the guitar when I was 13 years old, if I recall correctly. That was when my mom one day came home from work holding a brand new acoustic guitar (for me!). I was really into it for a while, learning chords and to learn tabulatures and rehearsing songs and trying to make some of my own (I used to write a lot of song lyrics at that time and as you can guess, they were pretty horrible at that point), usually by just slapping some chords on lyrics I had written and then performing it. I had no idea how songs were usually written (and in what order – I know now that some people prefer to make the music first and then come up with the lyrics to suit it) and how the whole process should work (how high I should sing for certain chords, etc.), but hey, I was 13 and full of enthusiasm :D

Then, as things sometimes do, the enthusiasm died down. I still like to pick up any guitars I see and play a few chords, just to enjoy the sound and the feeling of the instrument.

Now that I’m a bit older, I really wish I had learned to play the piano or the violin, or at least learned how to read musical notation. Well, they say it’s never too late...

I played the flute in middle school band, if that counts. I actually really enjoyed it, I just ended up dropping the class because the director was an asshole. I was pretty good at it though.

I've always wanted to learn to play the piano though, it's my absolute favorite instrument. If I had the money, I would totally take lessons.

I play acoustic guitar at church and guitar and mandolin at home. I really love bluegrass music, and I would love to learn how to play the fiddle. I also play my vocal cords, aka singing.

I started learning the piano since the age of 12. There was a time that I used to practice at least two to three hours per day, but now my enthusiasm for piano has gone. I would love to learn to play classical guitar some day because I really enjoy listening to the sounds of a guitar. I happen to play a bit of djembe drum too.
