What's more fun? Playing a game individually or with multiple players?

Some games are best played in a group like many of the point and click games especially when one is stuck and needs help but would you rather challenge yourself and continue playing alone? Would that be more fun?

Generally, I only play online multiplayer games. I wasn't always like this but every since the later years of PS3 and Xbox 360, I've found that I enjoy playing games with others much more than playing a solo campaign by myself. This may be because of how competitive I am with everything, though.

I believe playing multiplayer is much more fun thanks to the level of competitiveness we have compared to let's say playing against the game AI.

Another thing is the priceless feeling of just beating someone that makes playing multiplayer games so much fun.

I guess it depends on the game but I tend to play alone. However I agree that in some games competitiveness is the key point and playing against others is more fun. Maybe it's better if you play with your friends then you can compete because for me playing against some random people is not really interesting.

Some games are best played alone or designed to be played alone. An example is Fallout 4. You may also want to stick to the campaign mode of a game if the multiplayer community is bad. However, some games are best played multiplayer, such as Minecraft, unless you are playing special singleplayer maps. Still, I feel multiplayer is generally more fun. You get to communicate and play with other players, instead of being alone with an empty chat.

I prefer multiplayer games because I enjoy competing against real people. Playing against the computer is O.K but it can't compare to friendly trash talking your opponent. The only issue I have with multiplayer games is the childish behavior that sometimes happens, particularly online. Some people cannot handle losing therefore they insult and degrade other players.

I prefer playing alone. However, I do enjoy playing Bingo, which is normally played with other people.

I also enjoy Match 3 games. They are my favorite.

When I play a game that is story-driven, I prefer to play it alone. This way I can experience the story in my own pace. Sometimes I like to go back to previous parts of the story, and to do that I have to play alone. Other players rarely enjoy doing this together with me!

When I play a multiplayer game, I really think it's important for all players to have a similar level of skill in the game. When some players are very good and others are very bad, the game becomes tiresome very quickly.

I'm way too competitive and a sore loser. In my younger days I would play with multiple players and really compete. That was years ago. Today, I hardly play games but when I do, I compete with myself. And I pick games that doesn't require 'too much energy' in order to play.

I personally play both type of games and I do enjoy both of them. The multiplayer element makes the game more challenging and stressful as you do not want to let your team mates down in a game for example Dota 2. For a single player type of game, I like that I can advance the game on my own pace and it's definitely less stressful!

In my opinion, it depends on the game and the situation. For example, if I'm playing a online grinding game I would like to be alone. Although when I'm not grinding I would like to be with others. Playing alone is never more fun than playing with others. You can talk to others and show off how far you've gotten in the game.

It definitely depends on the game for me. Generally, I play alone - I'm a bit of an introvert and don't really enjoy playing with others. I particularly dislike it when players from a multiplayer game exhibit childish behavior but it's unavoidable, I guess. I am also afraid I might drag down the team when playing multiplayer games too - there is a lot of pressure. Sometimes I get competitive when playing multiplayer games too, and it's very exciting I have to say. I mostly play multiplayer games with my friends now, and everything goes well, very fun too.

I do enjoy single player games, especially old Nintendo games. However, I do enjoy multiplayer games even more so. I feel like games are meant to be shared and while it is fun to play alone sometimes, I think playing with a friend, may it be in person or online, can really make the difference. There are some games that I probably wouldn't even play had they not been multiplayer.

I have played games since I was 4 years old and I have experienced how it is to play single player and multiplayer. And my thought on this question is that it depends on the game, there are games that I love playing individually and there are games that I love playing multiplayer. But mostly the games that I play are multiplayer because you can play with your friends and have more fun that way.Playing alone when you know your friends play together can get really boring.Even playing alone multiplayer competitive or just casual is a great way to have fun and a good way to make new friends. That's why I would prefer playing multiplayer.

I'll prefer both of them. Single Player and Multi Player both have their fun and uniqueness.

For example: games like Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed are better in single player. Call of duty, Counter Strike have tonnes and tonnes of fun in multiplayer.

I used to play alone but i was very young in that time and now i see it very helpful to play with other friends like playing in 5 people its good and its very good to play with your friends because you will have fun more and more then when you play alone and get bored very fast but with the friends you won't get bored and you will be always happy with them and laugh when someone get failed and so on its cool feeling and you must try it

If I'm trying to get something done like doing a Easter egg on a zombie map then I love doing it alone I hate playing with other people and trying to do a Easter egg to me it takes a lot longer. But if I do get bored I would like to play with though some people not knowing a Easter egg of course but doing something else it's OK if I play with other people

If there's one thing I've learned in playing video games, it's that playing with friends is infinitely more fun. While I enjoy playing my single player games, playing multiplayer with my buddies makes video gaming even more enjoyable. The most recent game I played is DotA 2. You can play it single player against bots but you can only enjoy it so much that way. Playing with and against real people brings out the most out of any game with multiplayer feature.

I find playing a game individually is more fun because it forces you to get creative and think in order to beat the level or mission or objective. However, playing a game with others is more fun when it has a multiplayer mode or if you get tired of playing the AI and want to go against a live person.
