Of course I have iTunes but I don't actually use it anymore. I tried the free version of Spotify and wanted to shoot myself. It was rare that it would play a song that was actually on my playlist. I am currently using Shadow Player which is free and doesn't require WiFi. Can I get a Whoop Whoop? The only downfall that I have found is you have to weed through the songs because many of them are uploaded by users and they are the ones singing. However, you can find the original artist singing if you have patience enough to listen to some awful user singing.

Sound Cloud is an awesome application to use to listen to songs, especially since some of the music artists have genuine accounts on there, and a lot of the songs uploaded by users are the actually songs. It is great and easy to use, as you can create your own music playlist and it's entirely free and unlimited (only you have to have WiFi/Data). But there are apps out there, that lets you get the songs to listen to offline from Sound Cloud. I on the other hand, prefer getting the songs myself and manually creating my playlist to add to whatever normal music player I use. I prefer doing it all by myself than depend on music playing applications that get the songs for you. Well I hope this helps.

Thank you! I've discovered that ShadowPlayer has a huge glitch and I can't get it to play something I search after I've downloaded a few songs. GRRRRRR! Trying these out.

Before Apple Music was invented, I would use Pandora, iHeartRadio, and Spotify. I will still use all three of these apps on my computer, but my phone is strictly Apple Music.

I mostly use Boom Player which allows streaming local & international music much easier. I also use Mixcrate partly due to amazing equaliser, phenomenon sound produced and a lyrics search engine to help me learn my songs easily.

On my phone I mostly use iTunes. It has my favorites playlists and I'm just used to it. I also have Spotify but as @Cassie Hughes mentioned it's not really convenient if you're using a free version (it works great on the PC though).

To be honest, I haven't even heard of the most of the apps mentioned here. I guess maybe it's time to switch to something new then!

I haven't heard about Shadow Player before this post, it sounds like a really good app, I'll give it a try!
I only have used Spotify, I tried the free version first but, then I tried the promotion of three months for 6 dollars and I fell in love with it, and even if I don't have that promotion now, it's still worth it! :D

I don't like any of the music streaming services, like Pandora or Spotify. I want the control over what I listen to, as I am a quasi audiophile with extensive music library from which to listen from.

I prefer to just download or upload music to my phone and listen using Google Play Music app. Although, I am not completely satisfied with it, it is the best I have used so far. I have tried Poweramp trial version and didn't enjoy it at all.

MixerBox3 is a great app. It's just youtube opened on an app that you can also make playlists on and you can leave the app whilst your song plays (which you can't do on youtube!) Pretty simple to use and hasn't failed me yet!

I have Spotify on my phone. I got the lowest paid subscription so I can browse and skip songs wherever I am. I've created my playlist for driving, when working at home or when I need to relax. It's such a useful app to have.
