My laptop is a Dell Inspiron and it's about 8 years old. It's in terrible condition due to having to be repaired twice and then getting broke again. First my sister spilled sweet tea on it, which seeped into the motherboard, then my ex-boyfriend threw it across the room and broke it, then he fixed it and broke it again. :/ It runs slow, the plastic is broken, there's a piece of something coming through the side of the keyboard, the battery won't stay in without duct tape, I have to get a new charger every year, and it's just generally shot. It's time for me to get a new one, but I don't have the money for it. Inspirons in general don't last that long, it seems, and the chargers go fast.

My computer is over 7 years old and still functions pretty well. It has slowed down though as time went by. I get on the internet in 20 seconds, instead of 10 seconds now. My computer also freezes whenever it wants to and I can't do anything until it gets done with the freeze part, but still holding on for me, until I get a new one.

My computer is 4 years old and still doing good like it was when I first bought it. The only problem I encounter is when the hard drive fails and needed to replace it, that's when it was 3 years old. Other than the hard drive everything looks good and fine. One thing I always do to make it last longer and perform good is maintenance. Clean your computer inside and out, remove some trash and unused programs.

I've had my Dell laptop for 5 years now. I had to get it repaired once a few months ago, but besides that little issue my computer still runs perfectly well.

Right now I'm using ASUS laptop and it's relatively new, about two years I guess. It's working perfectly fine and I'm really not expecting to change it any time soon. I think the computer needs to be replaced only when it starts working really slow and it interferes with your work, especially if it's a desktop. Otherwise I'm not the person who would rush to the store whenever the new model hits the market.

My current laptop is about 2 years old and I can say that I've gotten my money's worth for this one. I've used it for my online jobs that have supported me and my lifestyle for the past two years and I'd say it will still be good for 2 more years before I'm forced to replace it. The battery is no longer that good so I just take it off at home and plug it. I'm a bit of a cheapskate so yeah, I'm going to use as long as I can.

It is about seven year old. My father gifted me this computer on my 12th birthday. I like and love it very much because it is a gift from my father. I am still using this computer. It is pretty and nice.

People say a computer that is two years old is already old. I bought my desktop in 2008 which makes it 8 years old. Now that is really, really old. It's so old that Vista is no longer getting updates. But it still works so I'm sticking with it. I just make sure that all my files are backed-up properly just in case it decides to retire permanently.

My computer is turning 10 years old next month and I know this for sure because the computer was bought as a wedding gift. So yeah, I have been married for almost 10 years now.

The computer is still behaving very well. I upgraded the RAM memory from 1GB to 3GB and the operating system from XP to Windows 7, so I am counting with it for a while longer. ;)

Mine is almost 5 years old, but I still love it. The only thing that ever went wrong with it, is a screw came loose and fell out, but it was easily replaceable.

I bought it my freshman year of high school, and it kicks ass still. Its an Acer Aspire, with Windows 7, and Intel Core i3. It never slowed down in speed and its easy to use. I don't care what anyone says, Windows 7 is the best. I hate Windows 8 and 10 so much.

The computer I'm using now was purchased a few months ago, but I purchased it refurbished. I was fairly happy with my older computer, but it became a choice of buying a new Windows program or a new computer, and it didn't cost much more to purchase the refurbished computer with the updated Windows program than it would have to purchase the software alone, so I decided to buy it. My old one is about 8 years old, but still works fairly well.

My desktop PC is about 10 years old. I can not remember correctly. It has a 2.8GHZ Pentium 4 CPU with single core, 512MB of ram and a 20GB HDD. Still runs pretty fast with Windows XP. Now I have a new laptop with core i7 6500u and 4GB of RAM. I have been using this laptop for just 2 months but already ran into lots of troubles. Blue screen every day! Lenovo sucks!

My “Toshiba” Core i 3, 4GB Ram Laptop is four years old and running perfectly without a problem. It does not give any hardware issue yet and I have never taken it for any maintenance. I saw some posts here stating that their machines are getting slower now, but for me no worries yet.

I believe that the secret of having a smoothly running computer is depending on “getting installed the latest updates” released for the version of OS using. I personally get my machine up to date on OS updates and security updates.

I have several old computers between 5 and 10 years old. Two Windows XP's and one Windows 7, and two that were upgraded to Windows 10. All are Dell computers that were either given to me when someone upgraded to a newer model or I bought for next to nothing compared to buying a new computer. I am not sure I like Window's 10, as it is not as compatible with Google Chrome which I love. Hate the search options on IE browser. And not crazy having all my stuff combined together.

I have tree computers and all are some years old. My Lenovo is over 5 years old and it works without problems. I think its a good brand and it was more expensive than others like Acer or Dell. My Mac is also four years old and Macs work normally a lot of years, thats typicall for Mac, but you have to pay more than for a Windows computer. I would say the best is not to buy this cheap computers which you get already for 400$. This can,t be a good deal. This works maybee just for little years or months.
