Many people mourn the dead, if the bible gives an assurance of life after death, should we stop mourning and giving our last respect to the departed?

There isn't really an answer to that.No one has ever died and come back to life to explain it.There may or may not be but I'd like to believe there might be because the thought of an "end" actually terrifies me.As for mourning, death is death. When our loved ones leave us forever, there is no hope that we'll see them again in an afterlife,so we should definitely pay our last respects to our loved ones.

Nobody knows whether there is life after death. We have heard several stories about people who have returned after a near-death experience. Also, there are stories about ghosts, who are assumed to be the souls of dead persons. I believe that such stories are imaginations of human mind.

Frankly speaking, I am not bothered whether life exists after death or not. My real concern is about how I live my present life before my death.

The answer could be yes or no. You could die in the physical world and live on in the spiritual world according to most religious texts. I think however that you can accomplish the same by just living in the thoughts and prayers of the people who loved and cherished you. That would however mean that you could die spiritually too, let's say for example when the people who loved you and cherished you forgot about you or if they ceased to exist.

As a Buddhist, not only I do believe that there is a life after death but also that there are countless lives after death and that we did live countless lives before this one. Nobody indeed knows what there will be after death but if you start to understand the law of cause and effect it is natural to believe in another life after this one. Where? The actions of this life will determine the next rebirth.

This has been on my mind a lot since my mother just passed away a few months ago. I really wish there to be a way to communicate with spirits and that they are just here on earth, but it goes against my upbringing. I was raised Baptist and we believe Christians go to heaven and unbelievers go to hell.

However, I have gotten away from church and got a bit confused while researching this as some people believe we wait until resurrection day to go to Heaven. Now I am unsure if my mother is in the ground sleeping and waiting to rise again.

I've just come to the decision I will not worry about exactly what happens, and just that I believe we will go somewhere pleasant if we believe in God and are good people. If we do end up just being spirits like some mediums believe, it doesn't matter what I believe now as they think everyone ends up happy (unless you get stuck on earth confused) regardless of their beliefs.

So either way, it's a waste of time to worry about if you believe in God and believe he died on the cross. If you have other religious beliefs I am not saying yours is wrong, it would just be different I suppose. I really do wish I knew the answer to this though. I suppose we all will someday!

We will never know unless we experience it. Maybe it's just something that we all want to believe so that we have something to look forward to . We try to find meaning about our existence. Everybody is bound to die so it's a little comforting to believe that we are here to prepare for a more meaningful life afterwards. However, we can't be sure unless we already experience it.

When our loved ones die, our belief with the life after death only becomes stronger. This is because we want to believe that someday, we will see them again. But if that's the case, why other people are afraid to die? Even in most movies, we are conditioned that death is the end of everything yet we still refuse to believe that's just it. Personally, I believe that there's life after death since we are all spiritual beings. We just need to be courageous enough to face death when it already come for us.
