Laptop and Desktop computers have advantages over one another with regard to usage, mobility and safety. Yes Laptops are better when it comes to mobility, but is vulnerable to theft, while Desktop is better in terms of safety. Both in terms of usage depends on the configuration.

Yes because they are more portable and don't lack a huge amount of power.

As far as portability is concerned laptops are no doubt better than desktops. But for serious workers who need to type faster in programming or some other office work desktop is the best choice. That is the reason desktop is used in offices more as compared to laptops.

Each one has benefits that the other can't match.

Laptops offer portability and mobility. The amount of power we are able to pack into a mobile form is ever increasing. Laptops still tend to lag a bit in the GPU area.

Desktops offer more power and expandability that laptops can't match. With desktops you have the ability to have multi-socket platforms for server use. Desktop can also have parts easily upgraded and swapped.

The answer is always going to be based on the situation that the user is in. Some people just don't care about having or need a truly mobile solution so for them a desktop is where it's at.

There is no context in which you can compare a laptop and a desktop, since both of them have advantages and disadvantages. It all depends on what are your needs, if it's for work or school then a laptop is best suited for these tasks, but if you intend to perform heavy and demanding tasks like gaming or rendering then your best option is a desktop.

I will always recommend laptops over desktop because they are weightless, portable, can be used in car and other places. Laptops are Powerful than Desktop. But when it comes to office purpose, everyone prefer desktops for long usage. I always prefer desktop for gaming as they can modify the ram and graphics easily. We all must have heard about Gaming PC but not a Gaming Laptop.

I don't think making a general view such as laptop is better than desktop or desktop is better than laptop is appropriate. The truth is laptop and desktop, both are good or bad in their own ways. While it comes to portability, laptop is better, however, when it comes to judge performance, desktop will always excel. Between laptop and desktop which is better depends on users requirements and preference.

I've actually read about gaming laptops when I was thinking whether to buy a laptop or a desktop. They're like super powerful but also very expensive.

This. When I was studying and had to commute multiple times a week, I bought a netbook because it was easier to carry. When its audio card broke, I decided to switch to a desktop computer because it is easier and quicker to find and buy replacement parts when it suddenly stops working unlike a laptop or a netbook. And because it's easier to get the parts, that means your desktop could last longer because you can still repair it rather than throwing it away immediately once it stops working.

As peoples said it depends on your usage. Personally I use laptop.

If you have a job where you need to bring your own computer, or you need portability then laptop is your better option. But if you want to do 4K video editing and want to play latest games, you should go with desktop.

We can say the laptops are portable and lightweight but they are less powerful than desktop. Desktops are far more powerful and reliable but limited to a single place. Laptops come where you want but you need to go wherever desktop is.

I think both types have their own qualities. Desktops are best for financial use and laptops for the personal use. Desktop has good processing speed and professional look. Desktop is having a hard solid body to keep in office and for commercial use. While laptop is a good machine for personal use. It is comfortable to keep it with you due to its portability. You can use to the laptop even you have direct supply as it can keep the charging save in its battery but parts of laptops are a bit costly due to its size.

We cannot deny the importance of both types of computer. Both have individual importance. I still remember my first desktop computer and it was Pentium 2.

I also personally use laptop, as I find it way more useful. Laptops are just easier to set up, you can carry them everywhere and they come with everything you need (screen, keyboard, touchpad). I've never had a desktop computer because I really don't feel like buying a screen and all that stuff.

For me, laptops are better than desktops. I own both but I use my laptop more often. I love my desktop, it's fast and reliable and excellent for gaming but my laptop is the best friend I can't live without. I use it for most of my work specially when I'm out on the field.

Laptops are not objectively better than Desktops. I know some people will bring the fact that laptops are portables unlike desktops but a product being more convenient does not mean it is better, in this case the convince of portability is over showered by how powerful of components you can get on desktop as they don’t have the same issues caused by the lack of space that laptops have, which generally means that high end components such as CPU’s and GPU’s are underclocked to reduce power usage. All in all, desktops will always be more powerful than laptops due to their ability to dissipate heat better.

For efficiency laptops are better but they can be very expense for better performance. But if you want something cheaper a desktop cause its more customizable and they last long.

I think it's depends on various things. Firstly, you should ask your self, "What are you going to use it for?" Because they both have their utility. If you are a gamer then I would recomend Desktop PC. Because if you buy a Laptop for it then it will cost you a lot. It needs very high quality of processor, RAM, hard disk and all kind of stuff:D:D:D. If you are a normal user of computer then anything will be okay. Because if travels much then 100% Laptop is good for you.

It depends the task being performed and also the circumstances. A laptop is more convenient because you can use it anywhere. Its also the best option for the light tasks such as web surfing. I would go for a desktop for heavier tasks because they are most suitable.

Laptops are better than desktop. Laptops are portable so that you can carry them anywhere you want. Laptops do not take up much space. Desktops are the complete opposite.
