So many people especially me before i chose to listen to the song i prefer the beat and tempo of the song because some times i really don't understand the meaning especially in hip hop songs and i think most songs are about love so no new meaning to listen to

I enjoy the meaning of a song more than the beat. I like ballads and especially country music ballads. Without a strong meaning in a song the beat seems like a pointless nise going no where. When meaning is displayed through the words then the beat can reflect those emotions. Even pop music is best when the meaning of the words in the song are thought provoking.

I enjoy them both equally. For me the beat is what catches my attention. And the meaning keeps me listening. I can listen to a song that has no meaning at all but still like it, if it has a good beat. I can also listen to a song with a good meaning. I think all good songs have a good beat and a good meaning or else it wouldn’t be a good song.

I agree with you, I prefer listening to the rhythm, tempo and beat of the music, because it is a much simpler way of connecting with something, and that's what music is about.
I enjoy the rhythm of the music more than the lyrics, because in most of the cases, the music I listen to is in a foreign language and I don't quite understand the meaning of the song. however, I am able to know what the song is about and which feelings it's meant to transmit to the listener.
