I agree I think that it is very possible to live without television. I say that because if it were not possible then we as a human race would need television more that food or water. However we don't need television more than food or water so we can live without television.

:):)Haha,,, I really find that question really funny. However, for any child born in the 90's and before, I don't really feel that they can't do without television.

Given the limitless entertainment, news, weather, business and sports updates and learning we benefit from, from having a television, one would really miss out on current trends if they never had a television but on my part I do not really think it is a basic need in life. Thank you.

If this question was brought to my attention not long ago, i would say it' impossible, but considering how far has technology and media evolved over the last few years and the numerous and several platforms that offer valuable and in depth analysis on every current event, the consumption of TV has slowed down drastically and i just can't see it either challenging nor withstanding the popularity and the usage of the other platforms.

It's possible. It just depend on some people. More people depend on watching movies, news, sports on their computer or PC. It might be more convenient for them. But I myself spend more time in TV watching, news, TV series and cooking show.

I can't live without TV too. Lol. I'm just used to watch all day and if the electricity is out, you can see me watching movies in my phone. It is really possible to live without TV for others but not for me.

Hello Germain. I do need to watch tv. Especially that world cup qualify is on and then world cup 2018. Not only for futebol, but movies, news. I read a thread in here where some get news from FB. Not for me, FB is fake news. I use FB to catch up with friends and family. I grew up watching the tv. And the shows I used to watch. All non politically correct stuff which was great and funny. But I can see why a lot of folks are turning off the tv. Tv is not the way it used to be. Today, its so politically correct that they tell you who to vote for, and if you don't follow its like they know. LOL. I love watching tv and taking naps.

I definitely believe that it's possible to live without TV nowadays. The reason I state so would be due to the availability of other alternative media devices. In fact, I have spent most of my time getting news from either my smartphone, computer or even the radio.

When it comes to entertainment, I find that my computer is pretty sufficient for me as I can access movies and music through streaming websites. I have also terminated my cable TV subscription as I no longer require it. It's safe to say that my television is no longer essential in my life.

Television is an important part of modern life, one we can hardly imagine living without. If I were forced to live without television, however, I would pursue other interests, socialize with friends and family, and exercise more often.
Without TV in my home, I would have time to pursue other interests. For example, I love to play the piano and without the distraction of TV, I would have more time to practice. At other times, I could paint portraits of my family and friends. Painting takes a lot of time and if I had no television, I would surely have enough to complete my work. Time to follow my interests would be much easier to find if someone came and took away my TV. So i think it has a benefit on both sides.

This is very much possible. The first few days without TV (for someone who's been watching tv ) is going to be very difficult, but as time goes by, you'd get use to it. Especially when you have no control over the situation.

It is possible to live without tv. If you enjoy that sorta thing i believe graphic novels
would be the next best thing, to reading a book on a series that is played on
television. Ask me what you cannot live without is the good ol Internet that never
fails to be a television within itself but a cheat sheet made for all things.

It is possible to live without Television. You can read books if you prefer that sorta thing.
I think that a good graphic novel/comic book can be put up to be the next best thing
if you find yourself having to be without a television, If not a book that is a series of shows
movies on the played on the television to replace the visual stimulation i believe that the
Next big thing that American's and most of the world cannot live without
Would be the Internet though somtimes used as a Televison within itself if i were
to go without the Internet would defeat the need to have a television present.

A recent study of those who live without found that about two-thirds fall into either the "crunchy granola set" or the "religious right, ultraconservative" camp, said researcher Marina Krcmar, a professor of communication at North Carolina's Wake Forest University. Krcmar interviewed 120 people from 62 different households who do not watch television, as well as 92 people from 35 households with TV, and described her findings in a new book, "Living Without the Screen" (Routledge, 2008).

The crunchy granola like the name but feel that the ultraconservative may as well be known as the Amish or settlers of old town who actually live happily and comfortably without the need to watch television as for the "crunchy granola mind as well be sunflower eaters who just in a nut shell need to eat somthing made tedious to the teeth to keep from thinking about there need to see whats on tube even if its so much as the weather if not watched by themselves i think they may gain information on what the tv has to say from others wishing they had the luxury.

    Yes, it is very possible.

In this digital age, we have cell phones, tablets e.t.c Nowadays I even hardly watch television, I sit with my tablet when I'm less busy. Sometimes i even go months without subscribing on my cable television and I don't even notice.

Definitely, personally I can do without television.

Yes,very possible. In this age of sophisticated gadgets,Tv has been boxed to a corner,Although it can never be completely ignored. For someone with Tablets,Smartphones and Laptops with online access,Everything one ever wants is actually online.
The only thing that can be missed as a result of no Tv is the joy of watching with family and friends.

I could live without tv more than i can live without anything elese entertaining. Tv means almost nothing to me any more since my last favorite show Jessie got cancelled, i use to be a big tv watch in the 1990's. But i don't even have a tv in my bedroom, but there are tvs through out the house that i almost never watch, tv isn't as entertaining to me as it use to be in the 1990's, i prefer to watch movies instead.

I read an article last week and the topic was 'Mind Control'. It stated that if we could lay off TV or the Internet, YouTube, etc. then our mindsets would be totally different. We wouldn't have outward information programming our thoughts and our ways. They say that everything we see and hear affects our mentality in some way or another. Just watching any kind of movie or show changes our behaviour somehow. But if we went without TV, etc. then we would be creating our own path with our own unique thoughts.
