Do you prefer using paper book or e-book for reading?

Personally, I prefer paper books because I find things more interesting, easier to read and understand on paper books.

I have a hard time concentrating or grasping whatever I am reading when using e-books, boredom also quickly sets in whenever using this medium. To me, it is a waste of productive time to read using e-books because I am sure to use less than half of the time spent reading e-books on paper books of the same subject.

Which do you prefer and why?

Can I say both? I know that's kind of a wishy washy answer, but it's really true.

If I'm at home and reading before bed or in the morning or something, then it's a paper book all the way. There's just nothing like the feel of an actual book in your hands: the turning of the pages, the weight of it, the smell of new paper, etc. I don't think that will ever be able to be replaced by ebooks.

However, for convenience sake, I have to admit to reading ebooks as well. I have a tabblet which goes with me everywhere, and I have all my reading apps loaded on it. The portability of ebooks is great for when your stuck waiting for an appointment or you have a few minutes break during the day. Also, I've usually got multiple books going at once so having all of them in one place makes sense.

I can see advantages and disadvantages for both kinds of books. I just hope that enough people prefer each kind that the future of paper books and ebooks is equally as bright.

Personally I like paper book better than an Ebook. I like paper books. Better because it doesn't strain my eyes and o like being able to hold and turn the pages on the book. Also I don't have to worry about losing battery and not being able to read it.

Personally, I prefer paper back books. However, I wouldn't be able to survive without E-books. I use reading as an outlet. When I feel a anxiety attack coming on, I just pick up a book and start reading. When I'm travelling, I don't have rooms for paper books, so in this case I am very thankful for electronic books.
Which one you like better is personal opinion. However, we can not say one is more useful than the other. It doesn't matter how you are reading, as long as you are reading.

For me, nothing beats a good paperback book. However, I do rely a lot on E-books. For example, as a college student, it is easier to find and carry around an E-book than an actual textbook. Especially for classes where we sometimes only use it a few times and not using it again. For night reading I also prefer an E-book, no need for lighting. I see no major negatives for either of them.

I say e-book because it helps to save our tree. As we know tree is very important for human being so, we should take care of tree. And as much we can, we should use e-book as learning material. E-book also helps us to change the way of learning from traditional to digital way of learning. Now a days lots of school support e-book as their studying material.

I prefer traditional books than E-book. For my experience I like reading books which is a ghost story books it gets my imagination going when am reading a book rather than internet books but E-books are great to read too though when it comes to grammar I prefer books.

For me it is definitely a preference for ebooks. I can carry an entire library of never ending books on a device that weighs less than two pounds and is smaller than a paperback. Honestly, I only usually read a traditional paper book when it is something that is not available as an ebook. Patrick Lynch's Carriers, comes to mind as a book that is not available in ebook form but is a book I like to read it every few years or so. In fact I have a copy on order/hold at my library so I will be reading it again very soon. If you like a gripping virus story this is definitely one heck of a jaw dropper. I can't wait to read it again.

I learn better with e-books. However, it depends on your program of study or your reason of study.

In my situation for instance, I read mostly for exams and looking at the number of materials to be covered within a short period of time, I can't be opening various paper books to cross-check items and references. So obviously, in my case e-book is better.

However, depending on the volume of materials to be covered and the amount of time one is exposed to, and also some people's allergies to screen-light from most electronic appliances, one may choose to go for paper book.

I don't like eBooks. They say computer screens are bad for your eyes... Talk to my dad who can barely see 20 feet in front of him who worked on computers for 40 years. So if you're working office jobs all day long, adding 4-5 hours of kindle reading a day or even a week is really putting you over the top.

The part I like about eBooks though is reading them under the bed sheets. When I was a kid i would use a flashlight but its so much nicer having an iPad. Whenever I do this now I feel like a kid in a fort staying up past his bed time.

But nothing beats an original print, and the smell of it... that is another subject. Walk into a barnes and noble and tell me that smell doesn't just make you want to read every book in there?

I love the feel of paper between my fingers. I love being able to trace the words with my fingers. Reading paperback feels a lot more intimate than reading e-books.

However, when it comes to textbooks, I'm leaning more towards the e-book camp. Specifically PDFs, that is. Googling things is a simple matter of copying and pasting, and the annotating tools are extremely useful. It's a hassle to keep a separate notebook to write down notes from a textbook.

I would like to tackle this as a question of efficiency vs effectiveness. How much input do you need to use either of the book in relation to storage, portability, etc vs how much does it deliver?

With increased need for information, through research, I would prefer E-books over paper books. This is because, you can have multiple books with over 500 pages at your disposal and you easily switch through either of them at will and at ease. Improvements in e-book reader applications have made navigation quite easy.

Moreover, E-books are easily portable and can be opened anywhere and at anytime with utmost ease.

With the discovery of power banks and more stable batteries on devices, then I don't think there's more worry on having a low power on your device as to threaten your access to an E-book. While reading for an exam, you will not have to worry about power black out, as long as your battery has sufficient juice.

As for straining the eyes, the reader of an e-book can adjust the brightness of the device or even use tinted glasses.

Therefore, I would personally prefer e-books to paper books.Thank you.

I agree with you. I also prefer E-book because it can easily fit in my pocket. When I'm travelling bringing paper books can only add weight in my baggage. I can easily have hundreds of books in my library without eating a lot of space in my room. It's easy to search new book and its more cheaper than real books .

I prefer to read e-books on my Kindle as I can choose to read any books which I want at any moment. Besides that, having digital copies means I can conserve more books without having to purchase additional bookshelves.

I find paper books useful during my university times as there were open book exams. Digital devices were not allowed in the hall. Thus, most students had to purchase a copy of the paper textbook.

Paper books are prone to wear and tear and require adequate care. Therefore, I would prefer to purchase e-books over paper books nowadays.

Honestly I can't really make a choice as preference for either boils down to so many factors like location (e.g at home or in a cab), type of reading (i.e academic or leisure) as well as individual factors.

I remember during my first degree using more of paper books which prevents the associated distraction observed when using an e-book as you tend to concentrate more on the text before you rather than checking an app or switching to a social platform which could make you end up using study time as pastime.

But e-books aren't all that bad as they are quite less cumbersome when compared to most reading texts. Research are easier to execute using a phone or a tablet since you can simply google, check for meanings of words with your dictionary application which is just few seconds away rather than using complementary text for such when it comes to paper book.

Well I feel having both options available in this age is a big plus than just having one, as we get to easily pick the most suitable for us and enjoy our leisure or study time.

I prefer paper books to eBooks. I feel lazy reading eBooks, I can't bear staring on a screen for long hours.

I like the feel of paper and the outlining of key points for quick referencing and jotting.

Ebooks are good but I use them only when it becomes my option.

I prefer paper books to eBook. When it comes to reading books, I think there is no feeling like the feel of an actual book in your hands. Reading paper books actually makes reading books to be more enjoyable. When I first started to use eBook for my studies, I realised that I always lose concentration within two hours. Which is very bad for me because my grades drops for sometime. Therefore, in order to stay concentrated for up to six hours, I read with actual paper books. Also, I have realised I understand much faster and easily when am reading an actual paper book. That is because I can easily jot down some points or circle it out.

Reading with ebooks for a long period of time makes my eyes blurry and sometimes it gives me headache. Also, I couldn't finish the whole book. So, I prefer reading paper book or hardcopy for me to instantly finish the book conveniently and with ease.

It really still like paper books than ebooks. For me it's very convenient and easy to adapt to any environment. It's still feel good to flip to one page to another and feel the texture of the pages of a book.
