And lately, I have been a little more thoughtful about the appropriate time to take water at each meal. I'm from a place where solid foods are commonplace and that demands of me to take very much water while eating. Equally, I'm fastidious with health matters and as a result, I can't afford to subject myself to health risk, owing to the types of foods chiefly taken in my place.
I read a debate on some forum sometime ago, which was on the same subject of if to take water while eating or more appropriately, after eating but I didn't take it seriously.
However, It recently started melting my mind as I take more solid foods and take water while eating it but don't know if I'm doing the right thing.

I never known Aqua scientifically known as H2o to be an bad intake. Besides that one guy who drank way to much But hey anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Trust me your not over thinking it on this one. I commonly find myself in a splendiferous cross-hair of the two. Completing this very task in multiple occasions at the same time. After i swallow, I sometimes like to wash it down therefore i drank before and after my meal.

Drink water 30 minutes before every meal and sip it in between eating and it makes you feel full through the day. Your body needs water but you can also drink too much water. It is good to drink water with every meal.

I think one body system determines the best one for the person to apply. Take me for instance, I sip water right before taking my meal, and also drink water in between the actual eating.

This helps me with the food digestion and also makes pooing easy for me the next day as it will be coming out with ease unlike when I don't take water while eating.

Some people prefer to drink water after eating because immediately they take water while still eating, they get filled up and cannot eat anymore. So as a result of not being forced to stop and dump the meal, they hold the thirst till they are satisfied with the food and then take water.

Taking water after eating is more healthy. However on certain cases when a person chokes while eating, taking water immediately can be helpful. When a person takes water while eating a lot of the food goes to waste and is not absorbed by the body. I would really recommend taking water thirty minutes after having a meal as a way of healthy living.

Okay, actually it's best to drink water to BEFORE a meal. The main reason for this is because dehydration would hinder the body from digesting food efficiently. Drinking water after a meal, especially IMMEDIATELY AFTER a meal, is counterintuitive because the water would dilute the hydrochloric acid released by the stomach. And thus, food digestion becomes more difficult due to lesser stomach acidity.

We are not to wash our food down by water. Water taken with food, dillutes the digestive juices in the stomach and affects digestions negatively.

Also, before digestion can begin properly, all the liquid must first be absorbed. That means that your food must wait a little longer in the stomach for proper digetion. This delay, may cause food to rot leading to fermentation.

Solid food are better than liquid foods. Make sure that you masticate the food well to allow it mix with saliva. Drink enough water before meals, about 30 minutes to meals and about 1.5 to 2 hours after a meal.

Finally, If you feel strong urge for water during meal time, then eat your meals with fruits and the urge will go away.

N/B. Do not eat vegetables with fruits at the same meal.

There are studies that have shown the best way to take water is incrementally through the day, as opposed to in just a few large drinks. I would hazard a guess that suboptimal water intake in large doses is probably better than inadequate water intake, but if you are health-conscious it's worth knowing how to best ingest it for maximum benefit. Regarding water with meals, I am aware of a very limited study which suggests cold water taken during, or immediately following a meal has a negative consequence of solidifying fats in the intestines. This can make you prone to inflammatory bowel diseases like IBS if it is a life long habit. It may be for the best to drink hot liquids with meals to help avoid this problem.

If you get hiccups or feel comfortable while eating, you can drink a sip of water while you are eating. Sometime back, I received a forward message from my friend. It says that we should drink one glass of water 15 minutes before any meal. Also, we should drink one glass of water before taking bath or going out. I don't know the reason for drinking water before taking bath. It may increase the hunger.

Few years back, I went to a restaurant in Chennai, India for lunch. I don't remember its name. The lunch menu was very different. It had salads, half cooked veggies, dals and more. All the dishes were in limited quantity with less oil and spice. The main point is they did not keep water till the lunch is finished.

But the food was very healthy and did not cause any kind of indigestion which we get usually in hotel foods.

I think,to take water before eating is wise.Drinking water before eating manages our digestive system in a quite manner. If a person drink water while eating, there is possibility that he may start to choke. If you begin to drink water before eating,I am sure that you will definitely enjoy a healthy and peaceful life.
