What will mobile phones look like 10 years from now?

they will be embedded next to your ear or just behind it like a cochlear implant is today.....of course the same device will present full color and full motion graphics to either a wrist screen or holographic HUD.

OR they may be rendered obsolete by old fashioned morse code if the culture implodes and has no oil or electricity.

 

I imagine it would be like some sort of hologram projected right on your forearm. I've seen pictures online of a prototype. It would look, feel and function just like the screen on our smartphones now, but it would be accessible on our bodies without a physical device. I think it's a pretty cool concept.

 

Hmm. That's not too long so I'm not going to say it'll be holographic, maybe around 2040 we'd be closer to that . I'd say maybe swipe-over technology where you can swipe over your screen and not touch it for some programs. Also probably have it more hands-free and voice activated.

 

I think in 10 years, they will look very much the same. Maybe a different size will become popular, the way phones got smaller and smaller and smaller, and now they're getting increasingly larger. People want to be able to use the screen to watch movies and play games, so smaller is no longer better.

On that note, I think the big change will be projectors - available in even base model phones. It sounds like the latest and greatest development that all the manufacturers will start competing to improve upon. In that case, maybe phones will get smaller again. I have to admit, I find it humorous to see someone using one of those tablet-size phones for an actual call.

 

As trends currently stand, the screen sizes of phones will continue to increase to a point when it becomes decided that the phones are too big. There will always be people who prefer smaller phones but the major new lines of phones will not decrease in size. Although as technology improves, we will likely see phones that are slimmer, so they will get smaller in a sense.

 

I think in the future, phones will be gone and replaced with wearable glasses or sunglasses that has the same technology as an Oculus Rift. The screen functions and UI will all be accessible through a projected virtual screen that you can actually typed on the send messages and using speech recognition can help you to answer a call. That is what I think technology will evolved to or at least that is what I hope it will. It's all just a matter of time.

 

I'm guessing they will probably be a piece of thin glass. Seeing how fast our phone technology is increasing I wouldn't be surprised if those thin pieces of glasses that would be our phones would come out in 5 years from now. Or like someone else said, they would probably just be embedded into/on our body, maybe a contact lense that allows you to see calls, FaceTime, etc.?

 

I think that phones will stay more or less the way they are, for a long time to come. Things like holograms and totally wearable tech are just too far away right now to think that they'll be part of our cell phones in 10 or even 20 years. Also, manufactuers are going to go with what will sell the most units. If there are a lot of people with certain disabilities, it won't make financial sense for cell phone makers to build a lot of phones that can't be used by people with those disabilities.

 

The trend would be the same, as what we seen before. We will see phones which we didn't expect it is, and everyone will just amaze and line up to have one. I hope i can still see and use those new technologies and compare it to what we have nowadays.

I think I can see smartphones going small in 10 years time. They have already started the technology of having smartwatch. When this develops to be popular and adversed the smartphones will start becoming small and small. One thing I know for a fact is that people will want to be wearing phones than pocketing them. At this moment there is a smartwatch we can use with no need of a smartphone. These kind of smartwatch are the ones to make the smartphones come to our wrists.

 

I think in 10 years, we will no longer have to use our hands, as the phones will work with the mind. Just think it and the phone does it. Its really scary though because just when we think we have seen it all, something amazingly new comes out.

 

Definitely it will be awesome..as the years and century keeps on lasting, the world is changing and evrything keeps on changing too,(advanced technology)..i cant wait to Watch MISSION IMPOSSIBLE & OO7 JAMES BOND in 10 years as well, because these guys drives me crazy with their high Tech Gadgets..

 

I believe that future mobile phones will be holographic. It will be as small as a flash drive but it can project a hologram like touch screen. On the near future I expect transparent smart phones to be the next big thing. I think someone already upload a YouTube video that shows the prototype. I hope people will not laugh at me but I am proud owner of a Nokia 3310. I do own a modern Android phone but an obsolete looking cellphone keeps the robbers away.

 

I think 50 years from now contact lens with digital screen like features like the hologram thing with Microsoft. If you guys seen the Black Ops 3 Call of Duty game, they show a trailer in the glimpse of the future and I kinda this is already happening.

 

Mobile phones have evolved rapidly over the past few years. Each time a new device comes out, there is a new look and new added feature but if some notice; with each new feature, there is also a old feature taken away. It may not seem like a big deal but some features that have been there forever are the most likable. In the next 10 years, I would expect to see a mobile device that has it all, all the way down to having the control of a remote control which operates a TV without the usage of a third party app.

 

Actually, i dont really know if there will be smartphones.
I would say that the age of smart phones is about to end, and the age of wearable technology is about to begin.
So probably, what we call smart phones now, will be in the shape of a bracelet that displays a hologram onto your arm. That is what I think, but if there is going to be smart phones, I guess they will be as light and thin as a sheet of paper, and also, we will be able to bend them because they would be flexible.

 

I think they will start using the Hologram technology by then. I was cleaning out my shelf the other day and I noticed all my past cellular phones were stacked on top of each other. Funny how they looked really bulky compared to my phone today. I wonder how much the cost of these phones of future may be? Perhaps it will be more expensive due to the higher level of technology used.

 

If I had to guess on how mobile phones will be like in the future. I believe there will be transparent phones and possibly Holographic technology. Imagine being able to do what Iron Man can do.
