Some people think listening to music somehow occupies the memory of the brain, while most disagree.

Let me share 5 ways you probably don't know that music improves your memory with music, yes music!

    1) Minimize your stress.
Stress can be cause unbearable amount of negative thoughts to barrage and cloud your brain. It can also be the reason you feel unmotivated to work or study. Give your brain some rest using music as a distraction from your stress.

    2) Allow you to think more clearly.
Let your thoughts follow the organised musical patterns and rhythms for you to focus better. Studies show that our brains operate by rhythms. By listening to the rhythms found in memory-boosting songs, you will be able to study in clear and calculated manner.

    3)Improve your mood.
Listening to happy instrumental music will brighten your heart and mind. Give your ears some nice melodies and don't be afraid to sing! singing is a great way to exercise your mind and body.

    4) Keep your eyes on goal.
Listening to more alert musical pieces motivates you more and thus enhances your attention. You can essentially be "pumped-up" by a song and use that energy to accomplish the task at hand.

    5) Allow your self quick breaks.
Taking a few moments to hum along with your favorite piece gives you some time to reunite new information, while also allowing you to reward yourself. The music can be a good reminder that you've been studying too long and need a break.

    hope it helps.....

Thanks for the topic. I am informed well informed about this topic. I've read that listening to music can improve your intelligence but is that true? I think it's true. It's called "Mozart effect". You can read about it at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozart_effect
I am interested in this kind of stuff so I read a lot about it. Interesting fact is that if you want your music to increase your IQ or to boost your memory, you must know a little bit of music theory. You must understand how composers compose music.

But everyone's taste is different, I mean, it would be ridiculous if you force yourself to listen a certain genre just because you or someone else think that it can improve your memory or IQ. Brain games will help you with it. :)
