I also like Google Chrome because of the gadgets and extensions, friendly platform, and at least for me, it crashes less than for example Internet Explorer, which crashes a lot on my computer and some tools are confusing. The second of my preference is Mozilla Firefox, that I like the gadgets and it doesn't crash much on my computer as well.

Speed of our browser also depends on the speed of our internet. If our Internet Plan is on average, it has average speed too and so forth and so on. Talking about browser speeds, the lighter the browser the faster it would be. I would go for Google Chrome. Chrome is a light browser with lots of free features. There are lots of features other browsers does not have that Chrome has, like for example is the Chrome Incognito mode. We can't find that mode in Mozilla Firefox or Lunascape etc.

Firefox comes next on my list. The latest version of Firefox is light just like Chrome and it loads fast also. The lesser the add-on we have on our browser, the faster it would be. It's because add-on consumes our bandwidth and it is affecting the Ping Speed of our browsers internet.

I'm not sure that it's the fastest, but I use Chrome as well. I used FireFox for a long time, but I switched about two years ago because it was constantly crashing. At first, I found Chrome to be weird and then went back to FireFox after it was better, but then once they started having problems again a few weeks later, I went back to Chrome, learned how to customize it, and haven't looked back.

I have found Google Chrome to be best for all of my search needs. Over the years I've tried others like Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Bing but for me its Chrome all the way

For me, I believe that Google Chrome is the fastest web browser. When I was younger, I always used Internet Explorer, Bing, and MSN the most. Occasionally, I used AOL and Firefox. However, I like Google Chrome the best hands down. I first started using it when my fiance got it on his new laptop. He advised me to get it, so I did. Ever since then, I decided that Google Chrome was the best one for me. It is super fast and I love it. I use it on my laptop, and it works very well. I had problems with my laptop a while back, but ever since I got it fixed, it has not given me any problems.

I have used couple of different browsers.. The one that i personally hate is Internet Explorer.. It is ridiculous, slow and annoying also.. I used to use Firefox before, but after i started using Chrome, everything changed.. Chrome is a king of all browsers.. It us super fast, super responsive and has very easy UI.. Opera, firefox, IE are nothing for chrome.. You can link you Google account directly with chrome.. Believe me , its super fast and super easy..

I think Google Chrome is the fastest, but it also depends on the add-ons that are enabled. So for example, I have multiple add-ons that I absolutely need running on Chrome. As a result, I use Internet Explorer and Chrome interchangeably. Sometimes Chrome doesn't let me visit a website for any particular website. Then I switch to IE.

Depending on whether I am on my laptop or my tablet I variously use Internet Explorer, Opera or Maxthon. On my computer, it is Internet Explorer first and Opera second. On my tablet, it is Opera first and Maxthon second. I'm a moderator on a couple of websites and having a second web browser installed makes it easier to post the 'moderator' messages where you wish to remain anonymous.

I have no issues with Internet Explorer, but I'm not a great fan of Firefox, Safari or Google Chrome. I don't know what it is about them, but they just don't feel right to me.

My personal favorite is Mozilla Firefox. I am not sure if it is really the fastest browser, but I like it's design. Like most people I stated out on Internet Explorer, but converted to Firefox when I learned about it in college. Since then I have become very familiar with Firefox and really like how it works and how it is designed. I gave Chrome a try about a year ago, but it was so different that I did not like it. I had trouble working with it, so that slowed me down a lot. I could not say for sure if it is faster than Firefox because I am not comfortable enough with it to navigate it at the same rate.

Seeing all the replies in the thread, I think Chrome takes the cake here. I too am a chrome user. I've tried them all. Opera, IE, Firefox, thunderbird etc. but nothing compares to chrome.

I would like to add to this discussion.

The browsing speed is dependent on two factors , viz :-
    1. Internet Plan (Surfing speed) :-
One must take a note that be it any web browser, if your Internet Plan is very low i.e. for example , 256 kbps surfing speed , it may take a while to load webpages and images which hampers the speed of browser. Thus, first step one must ensure is to have a good enough Internet plan.

    2. OS Configuration :-

One must also have the latest OS in place . For example, many newer versions of web browsers aren't compatible with old OS, like Internet Explorer 10 works with Win 7 & above. So XP users may not have a chance to use it , unless they are tech geeks and manage to pull a way to use it on Win XP. So, to get the latest, fastest and secure version of browser to enhance speed & security, one must have the latest OS in place.

    3.Browser & its Configuration:-

It is also dependent on the browser. Not just which browser, but also its configuration. There are lots of things which behave differently in different browsers. The same browser may be faster for only a subset of sites. Some factors are:
    • Rendering performance
    • Javascript performance (including individual methods)
    • Caching strategies (which vary a bit)
    • Whether HTTP pipelining is enabled by default
    • The default maximum number of HTTP connections
    • Whether compression etc, is supported
    • How soon during page loading the browser chooses to display or layout the page - this can have a big impact on user perception, even if overall load time is the same. Most browsers will make some attempt to render a page before it's finished loading at least some of the time, if it takes more than 1 sec or so.
Sadly there's no standard way of actually deciding that a page has even finished loading - some browsers don't count background images as part of the page load (Mozilla, for instance, fires onload events while background images are still loading).

Well looking after all these, I finally come to a conclusion that ,

If its only SPEED that you are looking for go for GOOGLE CHROME

If its SPEED & SECURITY go for MOZILLA FIREFOX :);)

I love Mozilla Firefox more than any other browser. I think the reason is that I am familiar with it more than the others. I also think Its user friendly.

I would say the the fastest web browser is SAFARI. It has a really easy to use interface and it is light which is great.

My favorite is Firefox. I have some tweaks in the settings. It's very easy to make changes in config file by typing "about:config" on address-bar. Now Firefox loads sites fastest.

Exactly. I will throw my vote into the Firefox ring as well. I feel like the customization you can do makes it leaps and bounds better than any of the others. Chrome crashes on me constantly and Internet Explorer just seems like an easy way to get a virus. My favorite thing is the style customizations of Firefox. That's on a level that I have never see from a browser before. Cool and I'll keep it as long as it works well for me!

The fastest in my mind is Google Chrome. It seems that when Firefox is down Google Chrome is their to back you up. It seems as though Google is always making new improvements. There may be other browsers in the future. But for now I would Google Chrome is the fastest.

Firefox or Chrome would win this question. It would also depend on the processing power of your computer or laptop as well.
