ok what you said wass it a fact or opinion? Camping can be done solo or with family. It depends on how the individual feels. I do most of my outdoor activities alone, such as metal detecting and fishing.

It is rather a vague statement and I have to agree with @MasterPostman that it is hard to know if you are stating it as an unsubstantiated fact or simply a personal opinion.

I have camped all of my life. My parents first took me camping when I was 6 months old and I still have that tent, an old Vango Force Ten Mk 4. It is one of the classic A frame tents that was bright orange when new, but now has faded to a pale cream colour. Over the years I have camped with my family, with my friends, with my husband and alone. I have camped on campsites and I have camped wild. I have also lived in a tent, not camped in one, but lived in one for several years.

Some of my favourite nights in a tent have been alone when I have been able to do what I want and not worry about waking anyone, when the temperature outside has dropped to -20C and I have woken to find a layer of ice over my sleeping bag and over the insides of the tent which glittered in the torch light. They are some of my fondest memories of camping and I was camping wild, and alone at the time.

Last Saturday, May 9, we went to a mountain resort and had camped overnight. It was the birthday of my niece and her 16 guests - all teenagers and college students - had their tents too.

The youngsters had lots of fun especially so when I conducted parlor games. And surprise of surprises, there were prizes of bags of candies and chocolates. It was really a riot of fun. And after the boodle fight dinner, we had a bonfire and roasting of marshmallows and hot dogs.

What else can I say? Family camping trips are fun for youngters and adults as well.

    Note: Here's the boodle table.

The last time I went camping was when I was in high school. It was in a mountainous place in our area and the teachers accompanied us. They taught us all about the different types of knot tying and how to make a fire. Everyone should try this out at least once in their lives. The things you learn from camping will give you practical insights in life.

Camping trips make great family trips, definitely, but they can also be fun when it's a group of friends, or just a solo trip. I like to take my kids camping because I like to give them a variety of experiences. They have traveled to big cities and stayed in nice hotels and they have also slept in the woods and explored nature. For me, variety is the spice of life!

Well not only for the family, actually I never camped with my family. I remember I used to camp with my handball team in the summer when we had beach handball tournaments. And nowadays that I quited handball I still camp one time a year in the summer with my colege friends, near a river or in a mountain that you can discover and made other activities, like a summer camp :p and a lot of people also camp when there are these known summer music festivals ;) so I think the majority of the campers (not the Call od Duty campers) are friends that camp for festivals or holidays ;)

    I love camping.

As well as camping as a child on family holidays years ago, I have also had probably 20 camping trips as an adult, all over the last ten years.

Just two weeks ago in fact, hubby and I packed the car up and drove just two hours away, to a campsite. We had two nights in our tent and it was one of the most relaxing weekends away we've had. The mobile signal out there was very iffy, so we actually just left our mobile phones in the car and spent the weekend talking and enjoying the picturesque site.

It was such a simple, relaxing weekend that we are already planning when we can do it again.

If you have lived in the big city and wish to get away, camping is a wonderful alternative. I have camped many times and enjoy the pleasant scenery. I enjoy walking and running the many trails available. In addition to that, I enjoy fishing and watching the night sky. These are two activities I rarely get a chance to do living in a crowded city.

For me, I enjoy camping after some tiring hours of trekking and hiking. I enjoy the outdoors more with this than just going to a certain location to camp.

Just had my very first camping "experience" this past weekend with the family. Except we camped indoors, it was pretty cool and the kids loved it. :) Excited to actually venture out into the great outdoors and really get the feel of a real camping experience. I will be searching within this forum for some tips to prepare for our great adventure! I know the kids will love it.

I love camping. There is nothing better than breathing in cool crisp clean air. Camping can be enjoyed with your entire family or you can fly solo for some real quiet time. There are so many things you can enjoy while you are on your camping trip.

Swimming in the lake or river is one of my favorites. You can also go hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing etc.. Cooking on the Campfire is by far the best way to cook on your trip. There's something about the taste and smell of bacon, sausage and eggs that's irresistible.
