God never promised that evil would not occur. As a matter of fact, it was just the opposite. Even His disciples endured terrible suffering and hardship. Many were executed. It can be hard to understand why God, if He is loving, could allow such evil things to happen.

I believe one reason is that without evil, there would be no “good”. Good presupposes evil and vice versa. For some reason, people tend to dwell on negatives. It is human nature, I believe- but it seems like we tend to ignore the great things God does for us - all the many times He does protect our loved ones. We may overlook many of His blessings. Then when the bad things happen, we are quick to question Him. I know I am guilty of this.

I also believe that since humans cannot have the same perspective like God has, we cannot understand why certain things happen. We may not know or understand the reasons why, but we have to trust in Him that all things work together for good. Sometimes hardship can bring us closer to God, so we can better know Him. Difficult times can bring families back together. It strengthens relationships with friends- it even strengthens communities and nations.

He gave us free will. I think it is a contradiction of logic to ask why He doesn’t just prohibit all evil. True love, in my opinion, requires free will. It is what makes love so special. In order for love to be real, it has to be given freely. I think He wanted us to choose to love Him- not like robots, pre-programmed to behave a certain way. What value would there have been in that?

I believe God is all-loving as well as all-powerful. God is powerful enough to stop evil, but if He took away evil, he would be taking away free will. Also, we as humans, are not perfect. If God took away all evil, there would be no-one left. God gave us free-will and the ability to choose because He is all-loving. That would not be real love. God loves us all, even though we all have sinned.

    What do you think?

I agree with Ange1, God allows things to happen for a reason that we may not understand. It can be confusing and even a little frustrating, but you must keep in mind he loves you and knows what is best for you. He knows all your burdens and problems and you can come to him by praying if something is bothering you. God gave us a choice to choose between good and evil, he did that because he loves us. Sin has caused man to do very bad things and because of that horrible situations occur, some have turned their backs on god and chose evil, it is not god causing bad things to happen, but evil is. God has made away for everyone to do good and be accepted into heaven by accepting Jesus Christ as your savior and basically being born again in that way. Do good throughout your life, choose to do good and you will reap the benefits and have eternal life. and be saved.

Dealing with challenges in life determines how strong we are. Sincerely, God can't let us go through challenges we can't solve. He allows challenges to happen to us so as to be close to him, faithfully. Though it is not of his interest to see us suffering. We can only rely on him through faith and prayers. We can overcome challenges and at the end, we win over them.

Now, I want you to take a clue from the story of Job. I believe God is good and his thought towards towards those who love him are of good and not of evil.

In the end, God will glorify himself through your situation. Please don't give up, just hold on.

All i can say here, is that you need to read the Bible thoroughly and find out how God's people were blessed, protected and survived this harsh demonic world.

Fasting is another important aspect that every Christian needs to use a weapon against the devil and a tool to draw God's attention. Jesus set a perfect example when he was born on this earth.

Christians have principles to follow and that's why we need to study the Bible. Even the devil has principles which when his followers break, are punished harshly. Our God gives us a choice of free will. He doesn't force anyone to follow Him.

The reward of the believers will be great when Jesus returns. All we have to do is live a life free from sin and love one another.

Simple because, that's how the world has been since the AD's . Hence the reason he sent his only son Jesus to come for our rescue believe me.You cant compare the bad things happening today with whats used to happen long ado before the Messiah..Do you know that you could be dead by now from the sins you happened to commit, But the Messiah come and erase that with his own blood. of course there must be a reason why he said he will come back , So no bad things no coming back of the Messiah! you want him back right.?

    Yes, this is quite correct.
From my own belief system, i believe that terrible things are bound to occur, but it all depends on the perspective with which we view and handle them.

Sometimes, the things we tag 'terrible things' may just be circumstances for us to learn some good life lessons, help us discipline ourselves, make better choices and develop certain skills which will definitely position us for greater challenges ahead. However, this all depends on having a very positive and optimistic mindset and personality.

Life can and has never really been 'a bed of roses' all through. If there are no challenges or oppositions which many tag as 'terrible things', there would be no victories and no truly inspiring success stories to tell.

I do not agree, Sincerely I feel God doesn't really care about what happens to us. I have seen strong righteous men die mysteriously at young ages, I have seen very holy people get caught up in trouble.

My question is if God really cares about us, why do this things happen? Why?

You guys should not get it wrong. God is never a bringer of evil. It is clearly stated in James chapter 1. God do not tempt and he cannot be tempted, he is never the bringer of evil.

Evil exist in the world today because the world is in control of Satan.

After the war in heaven, Satan and his angels were casted down to earth.
When Satan saw the beauty of men, he began to get involved with them in many ways. That is why you see sexual materials on the TV today.

As soon as I saw the topic title of this thread, that was exactly what came to mind. God "allows" terrible things to happen because He allows us to have free will. We are supposed to prove our worth by choosing Him, even when we have other options.

In the grand scheme of things, death isn't supposed to be the end, not if you believe God/Heaven exists. I don't think God doles out death as a punishment, even though for us it certainly seems like it. I'm not sure what you mean by getting caught up in trouble, but character is defined during the hard times. I know I have seen faith help my father very much through extremely challenging times. Maybe the hard times are meant to bring you closer to Him.

God doesn't "allow" terrible things to happen. That would make him unloving. God's not in control of this realm. All that happens here is as a result of human choice and nature. This is the "kingdom of this world" where another king "the devil" reigns. God's in control of his realm and we have to make a choice if we're to make it to his realm.

Yes,God is kind, loving, all knowing and forgiven, but all this cannot override is perfect justice. My reference is from the book of luke,chapter15 from verse11 to the end. There, a young man appear as a prodigal son, after he left his father and his younger brother for afar country to enjoy his inheritance.
After he had extravagantly spent everything, his life was so bad than what he can manage till he can't afford to stay. Therefore, he thought to return home, but with wretched and humble heart; sometimes, it takes a deep heart to fill a deep need for God. He returned to his father, and his father recognised him as his lost sheep that returned.

I tend to agree with Angel 1. Whatever happens in our lives whether good or bad, all happens with a reason. God knows what is about to happen and as it is written in the Bible that God's time is the best time.

The Bible says He knows us by our names and whatever happens in our lives all is to His glory.
