I have been doing an online job for months now with the use of my laptop. Since this is just available electronic for my work, I utilize it without any doubt. But lately, my friend advised me to buy a desktop since the type of work I have is for multi-heavy processes. Not a requirement but a suggestion. So if you were ask, which one is better for doing online job? Laptop or Desktop?

Depends on what online job you are doing, personally for me with a tablets and a smartphone is enough to do the job. I like using desktop more for video games.

I am doing online jobs for 4 months already and I would suggest to stick with your laptop. If your work requires heavy usage or process then you should go for desktop but since you are using the laptop already, I believe that your laptop alone can handle the tasks you need to do for you online job. The advantage of doing online jobs is you can work from home but it doesn't end in there. You can bring your laptop anywhere as long as you have a good stable mobile internet connection and still do you online work.

I have a laptop and it can pretty much do everything that a desktop are capable of doing.

For me, I prefer to use Laptop than desktop, mainly because of its mobility, and you don't have to worry just in case you experience a blackout. Blackout is the number one enemy of every freelancer who's making money online because once you lose electricity, there's no way for you to save the work that you do for hours. It's a tragic experience for me when I do my transcription work and all of a sudden, we lose electricity. The hard work that I did for hours has been gone in a matter of seconds. So I always prefer to use my laptop just in case anything happens.

I will choose a laptop anytime anyday. How would i manage to handle tasks that require changing of posture from time to time. I am a research writer and i can tell you that sometimes my hands get tired from typing to such an extent i have to look for extraordinary angles to sit just to finish orders from clients before deadline. I move from one chair to another looking for the best angles that stimulate my mind.

Also the monotony of having to sit in one postion for months is depressing. I will choose a laptop anyday, although, i am yet to know if there is any harm associated with placing your laptop on your laps especially for us men.

If your online job only need you to type, you can do it by laptop or desktop its just depends on you where you are more comfortable. But you will be needing a laptop if you will travel and you still need to connect with your online job. so you can do online job in any of the two.

A laptop is easier to move around with plus it sits comfortably on your laps. A desktop will require you to sit at one place which will become tiresome if you are doing a lot of work. In addition to that, a laptop keeps running even when the lights go out unlike a desktop where you only have a few minutes to save what you were working on.The laptop is an easy pick.

Be, it at the home or office, seminar, classes, and conferences laptop is much useful and have been my best and my companion in doing the online job and other peripheral things a computer can be used for such as, gaming, watching movies and playing music, I haven't tried going to desktop unless my laptop has faults, then, would consider using desktop.
The laptop is mobile, and it sustains power, unlike desktop that can only be used when and where there is steady power, and it is immobile, which means people like me that always have something to do online and always need a computer for our works won't smoothly do our works when there is no power .
My apologies to those that prefer desktop to laptops for sounding so nasty and wired on the desktop, it is so because I can't really spot it advantage over laptop.

I use both for my work.
But I personally feel laptop is far more better than desktop for online working. Particularly if you are self employed type online worker.
You can lie on comfortable bed for whole day while working, or you can take it any where you feel desirable.
While working on desktop you have to sit on chair in front of monitor as you are sitting in your office.
Even if you have to work for 8-10 hr, you can do while lying or sitting on bed, there is no need to create an office like environment by sitting in front of your desktop. This is just an extra stress.

If you are doing a lot of work for the job I would recommend desktop just because it has a lot more space available then a laptop would be able to even hold so it would be something I would look into.

According to me, a laptop is more convenient than a desktop. This is because of it's portability and flexibility which makes it easier for one to carry it around. A desktop is glued to one place hence making it difficult for an outdoor person to do his or her work.

If it is possible, having both is an added advantage. Desktops have much more space than laptops so you never worry about all the information you have to store. On the other hand, they can only stay at one place where you have to go everytime you need to use them. This is where laptops come in because they are easily portable even when travelling.

Laptops are easy to get malfunction problems than desktops especially if used continuously for a long time. You can use them evenly because it's possible to access the information through either and thus you increase their performance capability.

For me, it is my laptop which is more convenient in online jobs.

With my laptop, I can do research anywhere because you can't have a desktop in your bag. That is why I prefer laptop in doing online jobs.

Well, I think it's up to the user. Many people still using the desktop for online job, like me. I love to use my desktop at the corner of my house and nothing to worry about the battery and over heat. Some people using laptop because it's more accessible, they can use that anywhere inside their house. I don't see any problem between them. I like using my desktop because it reminds me of my previous work and I'm still looks like working in a company while I'm using my desktop. It's looks like I'm still sitting on my office doing some paper works. I'm still looks professional even I'm working in my comfort zone if I'm using my desktop. Sometimes, I'm working using my desktop eight hours a day also and will just have one hour break just to looks professional even my work now is more online. It's hard for me to type fast using my laptop, because I'm much more familiar to the keyboard of my desktop.

If your job requires heavy duty work, then definitely go for the desktop. It will cost you less to build one, compared to trying to buy a laptop with relatively similar power. If you'd rather work while lying on your couch, you may be better off using your laptop. After all, the choice comes down to you. If you feel you would be more productive as a desktop user, go ahead and get yourself one!
